Although the name Papier Mâché is French, the method was not adopted in France until the 17th century. The technique was originally used in the Orient as far back as 200 BC.

FDC was founded in 1985 by a stay at home mother trying to earn extra money. From those humble beginnings, Factory Direct Craft has since grown into a large distribution company that ships thousands of orders daily from our warehouse. We are still run by our founder's family.
