Does not compare to my McConkey pots. These are thin and flimsy. Arrived with dents and bent corners all over. They may last a few seasons if you are gentle with them but will fall apart much faster. These also have the 6 recycling symbol, which is not recyclable in my area so they will have to go to the landfill. They are a bit taller than the other pots but the base is narrower so while the soil volume is larger in these, it is not by much.

Good size, deep. Fits standard growers flats well: 18 per tray. However, the plastic will melt and warp if you leave them in direct sunlight.

They crack even if you handle them very gently and melt if exposed to the sun on hot days. Too bad because they fit well in most 10 x 10 or 10 x 20 germination trays except Bootstrap Farmer.

Been using these awhile for my Carnivorous Plants. Price is great, size is great, availability is great too. What's not so great and good to keep in mind, keep them out of the sun. They have melted and deformed on me multiple times when stacked ready for use. I haven't seen any melting and deformity when they are planted in, but be careful where you store them before putting them to use.

Impressed by the quality. The dimensions of the product are spot-on and they are sturdy, nothing like the 2-1/2" square thin plastic nursery pots used for seed starting in 1020 trays (though those will last for years, too, if cared for properly). I did detract one star because I only recently started using them and can't say for certain how they'll hold up. But I like what I've seen so far and I'd put money on them lasting a long time.

I start my tomatoes in February in 3.5" pots. After a month they are so tall there is a risk of them toppling over. These 5" pots were great for transplanting. The 3.5" square dimension makes it a perfect match for the pots I was transplanting from. They take up no more of a footprint in the grow trays and give the extra 1.5" space for putting more soil around the the stalk. The buried portion of the tomato stalk will sprout roots giving the plant a good head start when I transplant to the garden. Good value for the money and it helped me reduce the cost of potting soil by needing less for the new pot. Highly recommend these to any grower.I wanted to update my review. 3/30/23. I was so impressed with these pots, I ordered an additional pkg of 50. I reviewed the negative reviews on this product and wanted to address those concerns. As far as being shorted on the count, I received 50 pots in each order. Maybe those who gave a poor review because of the count just had a fluke order. I am happy with the count in 2 separate orders. As far a cracked pots, I have found none of the pots to have cracks. And as far as being thin and flimsy, they are thicker and sturdier than the 3.5x3.5 pots I transplanted from and those are on their 2nd and 3rd year of use. These are definately thicker plastic. I stand by my 5 star rating. This is a very good product and you can buy it with confidence. The price is fair compared to other products offered.

These are perfect for my needs. I just built a new container for growing sarracenia seedlings and needed tall pots that were durable enough to be reused when these seedlings outgrow them and it’s time to repot a new batch of seedlings into them. These pots definitely meet and exceed my expectations. They’re lightweight but durable enough where you can use them Year after year if need be. Tall enough for my purposes so they don’t get flooded. Also I like that the drain holes are at a slight angle on the bottom allowing water to still escape, or in my case enter, keeping my moisture loving bog plants in damp soil.If you do a lot of repotting and grow plants from seed every year and need a good quality pot that won’t completely break the bank then these are a great option.
