The main screw has buttress threads with chrome-plated dual slide bars. This vise features a unique rapid action handle. To engage rapid action, rotate the handle the normal way to tighten. Then turn the handle in the opposite position to freely move the front jaw. Designed for repetitive jobs that may have different sizes. Pre-drilled holes to mount under the workbench.

Perfect for those times I need to plane, or route, the edge of a short board, without having to drag out my 'WorkMate' and set it up. Added 1/2" pine facings to the jaws that extend 1/2" out from the top and sides. With the toe-in of the jaws, the grip on the work piece is solid. The clamping screw holds tight to the workbench. And the vice is wide enough at the base to keep it from spinning out of parallel with the bench edge if side force is accidentally applied. And the price is not bad compared to permanent mount vices I've looked at.

Bought for my workbench I didn’t want a big one. I didn’t want to drill hose into the bench or have it always in the way very portable, strong worth the money.

This is a well designed and well made wood vise. It's not for banging out auto parts or breaking rusted parts free, it's for holding wood. Add 2 permanent softwood jaws and you still have a 3" opening. Since I don't have space for a full time installation, the clamp on feature is perfect for me. It holds well and stores away easily.

I recently bought this vise because of all the positive reviews online. After a second time using this vice and clamping something, one of the vice ends cracked right in half. See pics. Also upon receiving this vice, the box was all dirty and greasy, seem like it was already used. Very disappointed. Send me a new one.

What I like most about this vice is its ability to used wherever you have a place to clamp it. i have only had a short time but I have used it in several different locations where I've been working. All you need is a place to clamp it and you're good to go. The jaws hold tight I haven't had a problem with anything I'm holding shifting while I'm using it. I've noticed people mentioning that the jaws aren't parallel but it's in the description that the jaws have a "toe-in" feature which is the reason for that. My only complaint is that the rod to tighten the clamp to a table or whatever is small which makes tightening it a little difficult. That being said, the clamp does hold tight and so far hasn't worked loose in use. All in all a great little vice, one I'm glad i purchased I'd give it a 5 if it weren't for the small clamp rod so 4.5*
