The dimensions are accurate, but the fill isn't as dense as my other mat of the same size (from another company called Great Mats). Also, they didn't package it in a box. Instead, it was simply shrink wrapped on both ends, which caused it to be delivered very dirty with scuff marks from the delivery process.

This mat would have been returned immediately upon opening it had it not been a lightning deal purchase for $130. As of this writing, the price is back up to $229 and it is absolutely not worth it. The stitching looks to be of a lesser quality than our other other folding mat from Z-Athletic and the density of the foam is atrocious. Our Z-Athletic mat is 3 years old and still holds up like the day we bought it. I have a feeling this mat from GSC will be torn apart in half the time.To be clear, don't buy this mat with the intention to do any sort of jumps to it or high-impact landings. The foam is way too soft. The Z-Athletic 4x8ftx2in folding mat is way better quality for cheaper ($157 at the time of this writing).

My daughter is in Level 4 gymnastics, this mat has been useful for her. She always brings it out when her friends come over. Because I have amazon prime I was able to get this shipped very quickly, otherwise I may not have bought due to the shipping cost.

I had purchased a 8 x 8 yoga mat for my Rushfit DVD workout and in 2 days realized it was not up for any real fitness programs. I flipped thru all the mats on amazon and decided on this one and glad i did. This thing is built to last. I honestly dont see any way to wear this thing out. When doing my mountain climber exercize this thing just pushed back and said "Give me some more!". I am 100000% satisfied with this mat. It does have a bit of a chemical odor at first. I opened it in the garage and left it there for a day. After each workout i spray it with Lysol and wipe it down. I know the odor will eventually go away. Not a big deal.This thing has TONS of padding and is built to last. Buy with confidence! Its worth the price!

This is a great mat for a home gym. We purchased it for our daughter who wanted a mat to practice her gymnastics on... it's very well made and great for our home gym as well.

I use these at home so I don't have to exercise on the floor.They are a little large for what I need, but that is not the mats fault.They are comfortable, fold to slide out of the way when not in use, and are easy to keep clean.One night, my wife was not comfortable on our mattress, and slept on these mats instead.I joined her, and have to say I prefer to sleep on these mats than our bed.Maybe I can get mats made the size of our bed, and replace our matress with these mats!Great product, and well made.If for personal use I'd suggest 2x8 is probably big enough, and more convenient.

These are great mats I highly recommend, I use these in my Karate school, I can take hard falls and slams and not get hurt. I use these when teaching Jiu-Jitsu to my students. These take all Take downs, Throws, and Rolls no problem.These are high quality I have a set of two, the first one I bought only had Velcro on two sides this has it on four sides I solved that by buying some industrial strength hold Velcro and cutting it in 4 one foot strips and made my first one three sided Velcro so now these can stay together to form a nice 8' by 8' square.Highly recommend!Sensei Wade C.
