Nice and sturdy. Holds a large , oval, wooden tray. The stand has a wide range and is made of chunky wood.

I have a large art charger to display and with custom frames priced so high, this was a cheap but fantastic option to display the charger

I use these to set medium to larger platters on. It's fine for that, but I would not put extra large or super heavy items on them. I have bought and used these several times. My friend uses these in an antique booth for large plates.

This will not support a substantive plate, just a light commercial porcelain one. I have others. The wood on this is thinner and the hinge weak.

I bought a metal picture/plate stand. I thought I liked it so I bought a second one to hold a memorial plaque. The second one was flawed and kept falling over forward. I couldn’t return it because it had been weeks by the time the plaque was delivered. I bought this plate stand that holds up to a 12” plate. The plaque is 13”. This stand is perfect and sturdy enough to hold the plaque without falling over. I just ordered a second one and received it today for a smaller plaque. I love both of them and finally not afraid that my items are not going to fall over.

Not as stable as my old stand, since the rear comes to a point (old one has 1/2" straight edges). But the height is good. Opens a bit wide so not very triangular; I think I'll add something to shorten the spread of the sides; that will make it more stable. Will keep.

I bought this to actually hold up my framed diplomas in my office, not plates. For the purposes of display and aesthetics, it's doing it's job and I'm extremely satisfied. The frames are rather large and heavy, comparable to or heavier than the weight of a large plate, so I would trust this to hold decorative plates as well.Though It works extremely well and looks great, when you hold it in your hands it feels rather flimsy. Whatever wood or material is used for this feels extremely lightweight So far it has not had a problem holding up the rather large frames for several months now, but if I had an irreplaceable plate or one of any sentimental value I would probably hold out for a stand that feels sturdier to ease my mind.Despite the problems I've stated, I gave this 5 stars because it looks great and has done what I needed it to do, holding something upright for display, and that's exactly what I bought it for.
