I purchased this Guild in good faith. It was unplayable above the fifth fret. I took this guitar to an accredited luthier who explained that he could not do anything to correct the manufacturing process, I then contacted the "factory" for over five months. I requested that I send the guitar to them for them to inspect. (I said I would incur all costs and only wanted them to validate my concern.) While moving up the chain of command, I was informed that they would not allow me to ship it to them for perusal. Upon further investigation, I learned that this guitar was made in China, and they had no quality control over the production and sale of this Chinese Guild. I have been a musician for over fifty years. I was duped. I would not suggest or recommend purchasing Guild guitars with no recourse. Shocked and dismayed, I am however grateful that I do not live near California, where the purported 'Factory' is.

This guitar has such an incredible sound. It's clear and the strings chime. The bass is not overwhelming, and blends nicely with the treble strings. I can't imagine that the Guild D-55 at around $4000 sounds any better. It probably does, but this Guild sounds better than any Guitar I have heard in the lower price range.

I did a lot of research and asking those who play before I decided on this guitar as a gift for my husband. It sounds amazing and he is loving it. Quality workmanship and it sounds so rich and nice!

I had the chance to play this in the store, didn’t buy for now however. But I absolutely loved it. Beautiful looking, played with ease. And the sound was amazing.

I'm very happy with this guitar. I was hesitant to buy an instrument that I had never played and I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I like the guitar. The shipping package was excellent and the guitar had no damage, I barely even had to tune it up before I played it. It's a beautiful guitar with a nice, bright tone. The ebony back and sides have a beautiful grain, and the top and binding give it the look of a more expensive guitar.I read reviews where people had bad experiences or didn't like the guitar for one reason or another, and maybe I got lucky with mine, but I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend it.
