Because I sew (and mend) a lot, I like to have a wide selection of thread colors on hand. This set is great. The colors suit my needs, since I wear a lot of pastels and Gutermann makes a high-quality product, which doesn't shred in the sewing machine, unlike cheaper brands.I was surprised to hear some customers complain about the amount of thread per spool. One hundred meters is standard for sewing thread.

I am neophyte sewer and was having all kinds of problems with my sewing machine and I never thought it was the quality of the thread that was causing the problem until I started buying the Gutermann thread. What a difference this thread makes! And, also they have better colors than other brands have.

Für meine Nähmaschine nutze ich nur noch das Garn von Gütermann, da dieses besonders sauber verarbeitet und reißfest ist.Da es Zeit wurde, die fast leeren Garnrollen in meinem Nähkasten (für Näh-/Stopfarbeiten von Hand) aufzufüllen, habe ich mich für das mehrfarbige Sortiment entschieden.Die Farbauswahl ist sehr gut (weiß und schwarz sowie grau muss man ggf. noch dazu kaufen), denn von rot über gelb bis blau und grün ist alles vertreten.Die einzelnen Rollen enthalten lediglich 100 m, was jedoch für meinen Nähkasten ausreichend ist.Farbintensität und Qualität des Garns ist wie erwartet sehr gut: keine Unregelmäßigkeiten und kein Fusseln.Fazit: klare Kaufempfehlung!

After getting a new sewing machine, I was frustrated that my bobbin tension was all jumbled up. I could adjust that tension on my 40 year old machine, but the new one had no place to adjust the tension. In fact the instruction book said, “ the tension was set at the factory and cannot be adjusted”. A dear friend of mine who is a wonderful seamstress told me that the new machines only work well with a better quality of thread! So I donated all of my inexpensive thread to charity and got all new thread based on research. It said that Mettler, Gutterman, and Husquarvarna were among the best threads to use in our newer machines. It worked! My bobbin tension is as smooth as can be.
