Do not use this valve for watering your lawn, washing your car, or tasks needing large volumes of water. While the valve will thread onto hoses using a 3/4 inch standard garden host thread ("GHT"), the valve is NOT a 3/4 inch inside diameter full flow shut off. The opening going through the valve is only 3/8" in diameter, which is less than all standard hose inside diameters. This will significantly reduce the volume of water going through your hose if attached at a supply end or reduce the volume exiting the hose at the spray/attachment end.So why does it get five stars? Construction and appropriate use. The valve is very well made from heavy brass that has properly cut threads and smoothly machined surfaces. It has a stainless steel ball in the valve; the best possible material. When tested under pressure, the valve did not leak at the threaded ends and the ball sealed the valve closed without leaking. It's also five stars if you use this in the configuration for which it is advertised, as a valve connected directly to a small diameter tubing, such as a gutter cleaning attachment. (NOTE: I did not review or rate the quick disconnect attachment. This review is for the valve only.)

While it adds a little bit of weight since it is actually brass and not cheap plastic, it is super convenient to have this as a shutoff valve on the end of the hose you are using or in the middle of two hoses so you don't have to go all the way back to the faucet connection to stop the water flow.

I like this product, though there is a caveat. While the shutoff valve is great, the quick disconnect didn't fit as it should and I am not sure if the fault lies with this product or the connector it should have fit in. Either way the shut off valve is high quality and worth having and for that alone I would recommend this product if nothing else. But for a quick disconnect system I would probably recommend buying both the connector and connection together rather than trusting two separate units will work together since apparently, they don't always.

We were looking for a shut off valve and for that kind of an adapter, and I really didn’t think I was going to find it here. I have seen low-quality ones at the Home fixer stores or very high priced. This is such a great price for something that looks like it’s going to last and last and last. I have not tried it yet but I’m not worried about leaking because they give you s spare washer and it just feels like it’s well-made.This puts the kind of end I like on anything that is a project in the house. My favorite four letter word DONE!

Just received these quick connect and immediately put it on the end of my hose. I have wanted one since i switched over to quick connects a couple years ago. For whatever reason it seems like i always need to remove the hose from my nozzle or pressure washer and of course am always as far from the spigot as i can be. This allows me to quickly shut off my hose from the business end and disconnect from the sprayer or pressure washer. I did only use the shutoff valve portion. I did not need the other male portion but saved it anyways as it may come in handy down the road. It also came with an extra rubber washer. Like any standard brass fittings i put the channel locks on and gave it just a little more power than i could get with my bare hands and there are no leaks. when i ordered this there was no gutter cleaning attachments. it was only hose quick connects
