This item worked perfectly for an older lampshade. It was easy to install and lampshade rarely tilts with this item. Glad the order came with 2 in the color options of silver and bronze. Will be using the 2nd (silver) soon. This was good purchase.

These little things are brilliant. Great for adding a top diffuser to a seated (non-harp) lampshade. They're fairly tight and stay in place. Perfect height for 10-12" (height not diameter) lampshade. Easy to install, fair value.

Because I seem to forever be buying the wrong lamp accessory I'm writing this Vine review so someone like me, who has countless extra lamp parts in storage because I bought the wrong thing, will understand. We all start somewhere and someone out there (like me) will appreciate the extra explanation.You get 2 adapters in 1 package. The price seems fine at around $5-6 each. You only use one on a standard light bulb at a time and just have the other one as an extra for another lamp. These adapters seem to work well and do what they're designed to do. The antique brass finish seems nice too. Kind of old fashioned or classic.This adapter is a piece that when you open the little "legs" of the part you put it over a standard light bulb. I had to pull these metal legs apart because they were pretty small and I didn't want to force it over a bulb potentially breaking the bulb in the process. I think this is normal because when you buy it you don't want them too big or too far apart already because they then would probably be too big for a bulb and wouldn't be stable and possibly just slide over and off the bulb.The bulb then gets screwed into a lamp base or lamp stand. These are not for use with lamp bases that have those tall oval shaped "harps" on them that you have to squeeze to get into the brackets at the bottom.Once your bulb is screwed into the lamp base and the lamp clip-on adapter is over the bare bulb, then you can put a lamp shade on the top piece. Before putting the shade on though you have to unscrew the cap piece (finial) off. So, you put the shade on and then screw the finial back on to secure the shade to the clip-on adapter. Step back and pat yourself on the back. You did it!

These lampshade clip on adapters do just what they should--securely clip onto a standard sized lightbulb to hold a lampshade. In the picture, I don't have the lampshade on, but have the finial screwed to the top of the adapter without the lampshade on.The antique brass finish is nice looking. I am a bit surprised at how lightweight the finial is, especially as the product says it is made of iron under the finish. Nothing wrong with the weight, it is just less than I was expecting based on previous clip adapters and their finials.

These good-quality adapters work well. On regular and slightly larger-sized light bulbs, they stay in place securely. (Even though it's not meant for small appliance-sized bulbs, I'm using it on one, and it's holding up with a little support from a nearby wall.) Simple, basic adapters, nicely priced. Recommended.
