I got these guards to replace the originals on my John Deere lawn tractor. The originals were destroyed in less than 25 hours from the drive belt rubbing against them when the blades were not engaged. I bought these for two reasons. 1.) they have steel inserts where the belt can make contact with the open sections and 2.), they are waaaay cheaper than the John Deere factory replacements. They bolted on perfectly aligned, and took less than ten minutes to install them. Nice not having all the loose debris not building up around the base of the blade spindles any more.

These aren't John Deere OEM parts, but they fit on perfectly. They replaced covers on my deck that a loose deck belt had worn through. Installation was simple and I used the original hardware instead of the bolts that came with this, as they were a different size for some reason.

The original covers were damaged or lost a while ago. Without the covers, the belt is much more likely to come off the pulleys. These are a little "flimsier" than the originals but are perfectly suitable for the task and a good value for the money.

I broke my oem ones after 7 years. If these last half as long I'll be happy for the price. Lined up perfect didn't have to twist to make fit.

With the high price of John Deere parts this is the best alternative.Rebuilt the entire mowing deck of my John Deere E130 that only had 218 hours on it.Thanks to Amazon I saved a lot of money 💰
