Your cart is empty.The Silicone Appli-Fuse Mat is made of a silicone and glass fiber material that is heat resistant up to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C.). That means it is the perfect surface for all of your fusing, ironing, and gluing needs. Fusible Applique - Place the applique design under the Appli-Fuse mat. Since the mat is transparent, the cut applique shapes can be placed perfectly. Since it is heat resistant, multiple layers can be placed simultaneously and pressed with a hot iron. The layered appliques can then be picked up as one piece and placed on the background fabric. An added bonus? The mat is slightly tacky so the pieces won’t migrate when positioned. Glue Guns - Since the Appli-Fuse mat can withstand temperatures up to 500 degrees F. (260 degrees C.), it is the perfect working surface whenever using a glue gun. Any globs of glue will flake off easily and protect the table underneath. Clean the mat with soap and water or place it in the dishwasher. The silicone pad makes it easy toput all those appliqué pieces together and iron them all together and you are ready to appliqué them down.

There aren't instructions to guide you, so I'm a little reserved on my opinion. I used it a couple of times with a average success. I think it takes time to figure it out.

Very helpful when quilting, or applique. Arrange your cut outs on the mat, move them around, mat holds them in place. You can iron over it without hurting the mat.

I use this with my light box to line up my appliqué pieces with each other and my pattern and then I can iron the pieces together right on the mat. This a such a great tool for appliqué.

I have to admit, I was leery about buying this inexpensive silicone mat but no need to fear. The quality is great, I love the extra large size, it is perfect for applique and the heat from the iron doesn't phaze it at all. Highly recommend! I have no clue what the difference between this one and the $30+ ones are.
