This would be a great replacement head for my Kobalt 80v trimmer, but none of the adapter nuts are compatible with the drive shaft of my model 2580-06 trimmer. I donated this part to Goodwill with an note highlighting that it may not work as a replacement on all models even though it says it is a universal replacement.

This arrived in one day and I immediately put it on my straight shaft Echo gas trimmer. Instructions were brief, but straight forward. Fit seems good. I have only trimmed with it long enough to make sure it works and tap-feeds as it should. The ability to quickly put in new line without taking the hub apart and winding on the spool is what sold me on it.

We got this as a replacement on my husbands Kobalt weed eater and while it does fit, it does not fit perfectly. It does cause a pretty significant vibration that was not present with the head that came with the weed eater. My husband had a pretty easy time swapping them out as the kit itself comes with a bunch of different options for the bolt connectors. It does not slow down the weed eater at all. So its a replacement, but there could be a more snug fit.

I like this better than the original Ryobi, which was never very good. This one feeds string better and jams less often.Only complaint, it can be difficult to remove cover to change string. Sometimes I can do it by hand, sometimes need a screwdriver to pry it open. A good design would be able to change string without tools. This was a BIG flaw in the original Ryobi which required a special tool, that wore out and I had to fashion my own.

This is a good head, however, the overall plastic top that clicks everything in place with the two sides is very hard to get in place. It also seems to go through an extreme amount of line. The line that is enclosed with package is too thick.
