Works well as long as you cut close to the junction. Be better if it had a ratchet function like the hand held.

I purchased this trimmer so I would not have to bend down at an awkward angle to trim shrubbery that is close to the ground. For that purpose it does work great. The only complaint is that the plastic tension adjuster broke off after a couple of hours of use.
