This is definitely a cheapo albeit somewhat functional ascender. It works but not reliably. The construction is very similar to Petzl and CT but the engineering of the product is poor in function due to a lack of attention to essential functional details and ergonomics: the spikey nubs on the cam are much less pointed than on those on the cams of professional brand ascenders which causes the ascender to not reliably grab the cover of tightly-woven static kernmantle ropes when ascending, which is what an ascender is for. Also, the angle at which the ascender must be held in order to get it to bite reliably is not very ergonomic. It works ok on 24 strand rope but isn't so good on 48 strand rope. I have used this ascender several times on ascents up to 120 feet but I would definitely spend more on a CT or a Petzl when I get another one.

Works as intended was a little skeptical because of the 2kn rating. But it ends up working I use it for bolting routes
