I don't write Amazon reviews, but we lost a very special person and I needed something special. This feather is much smaller than I expected, but it is stunning. And it is perfect. And I found a card to match it. The sticky label on the bottom is horrible, but comes off with a hair dryer. I will definitely buy again, even though I hope I don't need to.

I got this because I lost my grandmother (Nanny) in June 2023. She had turned 100 years old that May. She was beautiful inside & out. I miss her so much & this just made me think of her. I had planned to hang from my rear view mirror. It arrived in a very nice box with a little satin tabbed pull. I opened it & immediately thought it was beautiful! But when I took a closer look, I noticed a flaw with the gold painted edges. There's a section of paint that didn't "stick" & is not attached. There's also a small spot where the gold paint is matte vs the rest that is shiney gold. It's a really pretty carved piece. I would still recommend because I can't imagine this issue is the norm. Too much attention to detail in every other aspect. It would make a beautiful gift for anyone missing a lost loved one, if not for the defect ❤️. I may try to repaint the edges myself.

I was searching for a feather to give to a good friend of mine who recently lost her father. There were not a lot of choices for what I was specifically looking for. This particular feather is one of the better choices available at half the cost of others. In my opinion, the feather is the perfect size. The gold trim is really pretty. I disagree that the feather is 'thick' like another reviewer stated. I personally think the feather is perfect in size (width and length). You would not want it thinner or it would feel 'cheap'. The boxed feather comes with a small card with the perfect words to extend condolences. The advertisement doesn't state what material the feather is made of - my best guess is a composite acrylic of some sort as it looks like it was poured or stamped and then sprayed with a shellac. The problem with this is that you can see imperfections in the sprayed finish - little bubbles and inconsistencies. I attempted to showcase these imperfections in one of my photos, but it is hard capture a 3D image using a phone camera. However, these inconsistencies are all over the feather and are especially noticeable on the back of the feather where the material is smooth. This bothers me and I wish that the feather was made of a better material - perhaps porcelain (like Lenox) or abalone. If I had the option to pay more for a higher-end material with a better finish, I certainly would (especially since the feather is being given as a sympathy gift). Nonetheless, at least it is the thought that counts, and I think this is a suitable option to purchase when you consider how lovely the size, color choice and overall sentiment of the feather are.

This feather ornament is really beautiful in person! I was looking for a meaningful memorial gift for someone special, and this was perfect the second I saw it.It feels like a little piece of love you can hold onto.The size is just right, not too big or small. You can tell it's good quality. I'm really happy with it and think it will be a comfort to the person I'm giving it to. Definitely recommend it.

This feather is absolutely beautiful with iridescent side. Looks like it made of shell, gold paint around edges and ribbon attached to hang. Carefully packaged with note card. I love it.
