I have no idea what product all these other people gave 5-star reviews for, but it's definitely NOT the product I received. User friendly? NO. I am no expert, but I'm not a beginner either, and this machine is not user friendly. Stitches are uneven, sometimes bunching up and sometimes skipping. I'm not working with heavy fabrics. I'm trying to hem a thin cotton skirt. Thread hangs up in the bottom section and won't release without breaking it or cutting it, so the fabric ends up stuck in the machine. There is no way to access the bottom section to adjust tension or clear anything that may be causing it to bind. I did manage a few stitches, thus the 2nd star, but I can't even complete the project I purchased it for. Given that it is battery or USB operated, it's a good concept in theory, except it doesn't do the job it's designed for. I try to avoid leaving negative reviews, but this thing is junk. Will be returning this, and finishing the job by hand.
