When this arrived, I was surprised to see that the beads are made out of a cheap plastic and connected by flimsy wire rings. The majority of them were tangled with eachother and I had to spend a lot of time getting them untangled. One section was broken and as you can see by the photo, I had to use a paper clip. Definitely, not worth the price. This reminds me of a dollar store item for $5.

I can understand if people experience a little frustration when receiving this item. The shipping process jostles the beds and wires around so that it can take a little effort to untangle them. But it isn't that big of a deal and doesn't take too long to get things falling properly. These are very pretty, both day and night. The acrylic beads perform very well and may be better than glass in higher winds. Honestly, you can't really tell they are not glass when looking at them. They perform exceptionally well and stay lit all night. Mine gets a fair amount of sun all day, but only receives DIRECT sunlight for 4 hours/day. The photos show both day and night images. The nigh time photo was taken at 5:45 in the morning! Even with a limited amount of sun, it stays lit ALL NIGHT!Quality is not perfect. One strand of beads had one extra crystal that I had to remove, but it was easy to do.

I happen to really like this lantern. I have it temporarily installed on my lanai, hanging from a built in light with a switch located in an inconvenient location, until I get a ceiling hook installed from which to permanently hang it. I was afraid it wouldn't get enough sunlight there to charge it, but apparently it did. It did not come on automatically because I had the on/off switch in the wrong position. But it is nice to know you can manually turn it on/off.The crystals are acrylic, rather than glass, but I see that as a benefit. It means fewer chips when it swings in the wind. They do not look cheap at all, and they still reflect the light well. It is creating a pretty pattern where I have it hung right now, and you do not get a "wind chime effect" when the crystals catch a breeze, like you can sometimes do with real crystals. Besides, for $26, you cannot expect fragile, real crystal. I have a "real crystal" stair light that is a similar size and cost a whole lot more. This is a pretty accent piece, and it is more of an accent piece than a light you'd want to read by. It looks pretty when it catches sun rays during the day, and it casts a cool pattern when it is lit up at night. It is a nice "mood lighting" type decoration. I like the fact it is powered by a rechargeable AA battery that you can replace, should it wear out. Too many solar lights need to be trashed when the battery no longer charges. The product description is accurate with one exception: it calls this a "wall light." It is a hanging light with a built in hook, and you can hang it from wherever you can hook it on. However, you'd need to install some sort of arm from which to hang this if you want it on a wall. It needs some clearance, and would not be able to be flush-mounted to a wall.I also think this is priced well, at about $26 at the time of this review. This will be a nice complement to the clear fairy lights I have hanging around the perimeter of my lanai roof. I recommend this lantern.EDIT: I have had this hung for several days now. The dusk to dawn auto-on function is working perfectly.
