The device is made of a white plastic build and I can either use the included clips or use screws to install it on the wall or ceiling. I ended up using two white power cords with polarized plugs to hook up the human presence sensor to a lamp. The installation instructions are clear and there's a wiring diagram on how to hook it up. It uses the Smart Life app I already have installed from the Google Play store to control it and change settings. I linked it via 2.4 GHz WiFi to my phone. There are few functions it can do. I can also link another device controlled by Smart Life to perform an action like turning on one of my WiFi bulbs to a red color at 50% brightness. In the Smart Life app, I can set the detection distance from 1.5 to 6 meters (4.9 to 19.7 feet). And I can also see the current distance of someone to the human presence sensor with quite a high accuracy. The app keeps a log of when it detected presence and at what distance. And the app can even send a push notification and sound an alert.

I'm not sure if other countries have safe ways to utilize something like this, but I can't find a convenient way to use this as it seems they have intended. It doesn't seem to be designed around mounting to a junction box, just hung directly. Since it seems the only safe way to use it would be to wire it to a cord directly and plug it in, and I'm not sure any easy way to use it in this manner that wouldn't be an eyesore with a cord hanging from the wall. I suppose, if you have a use case for this as a presence sensor that'd mount in line with a cord, where the cord is in a location where the sensor would actually be able to do its job while supplying less than 2 amps, it's fine. Seems to work well enough when used this way, and is pretty sensitive. Otherwise, everything else about this makes it a bad idea, stick to usb or battery powered devices if you don't want to mess about with junction boxes and 110v wires.

This Haozee Human Presence Sensor is a nice addition to my smart home setup, and it works well with the Tuya/Smartlife apps. If you are looking for a professional-grade presence detector, this would definitely qualify. Before installing it, I was able to work through the setup process pretty quickly. It registers in the app very easily, and I had no issues naming it and getting it worked into the system.However, this presence sensor is made to be hardwired to your 110V connection, not by batteries. You will need to find a good location for it, like in your ceiling, as it is very sensitive. I could not even sneak into the room when testing it out; it senses your presence very quickly. Installing was the most annoying aspect of it for me, as I like a flushed look and had to cut a hole to mount it in the ceiling and wire it. It has a good amount of options in the apps to adjust, like sensitivity, which I tuned down a little. Overall, it made my smart home system a little smarter and at a decent price point. I give it four out of five stars, minus one star for having to hardwire it rather than using a battery pack.

Folks I never had a chance to really see how well this worked as when I attempted to wire it for power I fried it....This thing takes 110volts and I tried to wire it with a test cord I have and the wiring block is made for small wires and apparently I didn't get one of the wires cleanly inserted and when I plugged it in, well that was it for this...So all I can say is be very, very careful when wiring this... The manufacturer would be well advised to modify the wiring block...

I installed this sensor hoping it would catch intruders, or at least turn on my lights without me having to fumble around like a confused raccoon in a garbage can. It does just that—turns on the lights when you enter and off when you leave—no hub needed, just Wi-Fi and some patience while it figures out you’re not a sneaky dragon trying to break in.The sensor is so sensitive, it once turned on the lights when my cat tiptoed by. Either it’s smarter than I thought, or my cat is secretly training to become a ninja. This is a Tuya connected sensor, which makes it compatible with most smart home setups - including my home assistant smart home. It has alright features, and seems to perform the same as other similar devices.The setup is incredibly annoying though. Most other devices have multiple power modes, while this one needs to be hardwired into mains power. This makes it much harder to use in a rental property or other place where permanent mounting is less favorable.

I gave this 4 start because it works well for what it is designed for. Keep in mind though that this is a hard-wired device that connects to 110V. Ideally it should be ceiling mounted. Most people probably don't have an easy way to mount this in the ceiling and run power to it. If you do, it works well. It will detect people and send you a notification to the Tuya App. Adding to the app was very easy. There are many settings you can adjust for your installation. The device does have terminals (110v) where you can add a load, like a light, so it can turn the light on/off without using the App. You can create some basic automations with it using the Tuya App. Note that I could not find any UL or ETL test markings on the device.
