I like it - the paper is great and the book is just the right size. I wish there were an optional leatherette cover or something I could put on it, though. It's hard cover, but still paper and I imagine it'll get kinda beat up in 5 years of use. I used to use a different brand and thought I'd give this one a shot. The brand I used before had the cover and it's great. I only needed to move the cover to the new journal when it was time to start again.

This journal is beautiful and well-made! Every time I write in it, I feel like it’s worthy of the honor of holding five years of my life!! It has much more space per-day compared to the classic “one line a day” journals. The intro/suggestions at the beginning make it feel like it was designed with love and great care. $39.99 probably feels like a lot to spend on a journal, but considering it’s only $8 a year, and the beautiful quality, this journal is well-worth it! Just do it and buy the nice one, so glad I did!!

I bought this product as a gift for my daughter, who specifically requested it. She loves having the multi years to look back at both the aspect of journaling and as dreaming/planning for the future. She was excited to get, it and loves it.Plenty of space to jot down her ideas and a very pretty cover.

I bought this for myself. I do write memoir but sometimes it is fun to look back and see what was on my mind previously. I like that there are only a few lines. It doesn't take long to jot down whatever comes to my mind. I love looking at things my parents and my grandparents have written years ago. I hope my grandkids will enjoy some time in the future.

This is my second 5 yr. journal. I have tried many as this is my 44th year in writing in a journal. If you have done this as long as I have it is like brushing your teeth. I can not "not" do this. It is my daily routine. I have as you may have guessed tried a number of journals and I can say this is the best. This journal travels with me wherever I go: camping, international travel, college football games, resorts, family events etc. It has stood up better than any of them. I just love 5 yrs as apposed to 4 years or converting a one year to 4 years as I did in the early days. The addition of a ribbon bookmark is a nice "new" feature. The pages are thick enough preventing bleed from prior pages. The hardback takes all the punishment in travel. The six lines are just enough to capture my normal days. When I travel I write in 2 journals daily (this one) and a travel journal to capture more detail of my travels. Thank you for an awesome product. I hope I can live long enough to order many more. Absolutely beautiful book, and I love the color options. I've been doing these for 10 years now, and it is such a wonderful and memorable experience. You just need to write a couple sentences at the end or beginning of every day, and it's so much fun and so interesting to look at how your life has changed and the growth over the years, and what you were doing the same time last year, or two years ago, or five! I always give these out as gifts, especially to new parents, because is so meaningful to watch the change in your life. You don't see it when you're living it day today, but when you go back and look at the things that you experience in your life, it's really interesting. Some people use them specifically is gratitude journals, or the monitor specific accomplishments either in their personal or professional lives. I read as small as I can try to get as much information in for each day. I can't recommend these enough, and this particular brand is excellent because it's a great size, it's sturdy, it has a bookmark in it, it's fabulous!

Pros:This is my third 5 year journal, and it is by far the best (so far). I am a month and a half into it and I am so sorry I didn’t get this one in the first place. It lays open nicely when I write in it. It has 6 roomy lines to write on so I don’t feel like I am writing in shorthand or text style. The hard cover is perfect for attaching a special pen (see photo). Also, it looks pretty sitting on my night stand.Cons:The only con is it arrived slightly damaged. The cover had all the indentations at the top that you see in the photo. I did not remove a star because that was due to shipping and not anything that the journal lacks. I do not mind it too much because I am attaching my special pen up there anyway, and it will eventually get dinged in its 5 years with me. But it might be something that they want to correct when shipping these in the future.Why not a regular journal?I do have regular journals that I can occasionally go into depth and detail, but this is my everyday journal. I can see what I was doing on this day many years ago, just like the Facebook “memories” feature that I love so much. But this one is private, just for me, so nothing has to be Facebook “whitewashed”. Also, it is so easy and quick that is does not feel like just another “to do” on a long list of things that need done. It is all for me. As a stay at home mom, I want something that is just for me and has nothing to do with being a mom. Yet it isn’t overwhelming. I feel like my days run into each other, and before my 5 year journal days, I could never remember what I did with my time. This gives me a very real sense of my life and what it is actually like day to day. And when I read back on it, it jogs my terrible memory and I can recall what that day was like. It may not sound important, but it is to me because this is my real everyday life.If a 5 year journal is for you, pick your color and enjoy this one.
