I no longer buy automotive parts on Amazon. If I could get back all the money in labor hours or troubleshooting and replacing DOA parts or parts that only lasted a couple thousand miles, I could take a very nice vacation around the world. This fan clutch is the same. I had problems with the A/C pump over-pressurizing on the high side and blowing freon out the relief valve on the pump and after going through replacing my condenser and evap cores and replacing the A/C pump, it turns out that paying extra and buying a fan clutch locally (with a warranty that actually works) would have saved me a few hundred in parts and much more in labor.

I have had really great luck with Hayden fan clutches in the past, but this one didn't seem to work as well. Couldn't keep the AC cool at idle. Returned it and bought motorcraft

Seems like it let's the motor get a little warm before kicking in but once on feels like a tornado pulling air through the radiator

Finally got around to replacing this on my 2001 excursion 7.3. First thing I noticed is this one is a lot lighter by maybe a third. Secondly, it's thinner by nearly half an inch. I was thinking I got the wrong part, but the numbers checked out, and it installed fine. It does work, the roar is back when it kicks on.I hope it lasts as long as the original.
