I tried to use for stamp collecting to increase image size to read print. This unit is not as clear as I need. I also cannot find how to turn off totally after use. I am not finished learning about the unit but so far not a 100% review.

Came on time. The light arms are a little wobbly and I wish I could have gotten the 10” screen but can easily hook to a monitor. The best part of the microscope is the on board battery. You can look at stuff in the field for about 5-6 hours without a recharge. The viewer, pictures and videos are super clear and it’s easily focused. For the price it’s China made but pretty good quality other than the light arms but once adjusted they stay put. Full screen of whole coin even a silver dollar if you’re in to coin collecting. Stoked to use it in the field.

The microscope is excellent! I have tested at least 10 of these microscopes and not one has been satisfactory. This one is it! Perfect resolution, clarity, and brightness. Thank you Hayve!

These microscopes don’t tend to last very long without issues. So I upgraded to this one and it works very well so far. Long battery life.

Microscope is reasonable for the money. However, the construction is flimsy, especially the track gear for raising and lowering the head and the knob for adjusting is small. Have had it disengage and slide down while attempting to adjust the image size. Remote and electronics work well. Don't buy this one for the 1500X max magnification compared to 1200X on many competitors. The difference isn't noticable in the final image size. I prefer the unit a gave to my father, which is better construction from a different manufacturer.

OVERALL: I highly recommend this digital microscope for biological and earth sciences and engineering, (not for cellular/medical sciences as most cells are too small for this scope). It is intuitive and well-built enough for a kid to operate and powerful enough for field research. The price is reasonable, so this would make it a wonderful gift for a student or backyard scientist, and a great investment for a classroom or professional field lab. See my detailed review below, but the two biggest negatives for me is the lack of calibration micrometer and protective dust-cover: I recommend that you buy these seperately because once you set it up, you may not want to put it away again!- MAGNIFICATION: I tested this scope with mealybug egg cases (0.2 mm), nymphs (60 microns), and adults (0.3 mm) which are all teeny-tiny/imperceptible to the naked eye (see photos). This product performs at least as well as my old setup, i.e., a camera or phone leaning against a microscope eyepiece, but is way easier. I'd say the minimum size objects that you can get good detail on will be >100 microns (>0.1 mm).- SCALING: a major downside of this and most digital microscopes is that, if it's important to you, you must manually calibrate and calculate the magnification. For this reason, it's a shame that this microscope does not include a calibration micrometer scale or grid.- LIGHTING: versatile options with two dimmable gooseneck stage lights (dedicated battery), dimmable camera lens ring light (shares battery with screen), and a removable dimmable backlight box (dedicated battery). My only critique is that the backlight is so small, just the size of a microscope slide. I prefer larger lightboxes, but they are pretty cheap and an easy thing to add to this set to take it to the next level.- EASE OF USE: The buttons on the unit work well, but the remote control is indispensable for snapping photos and video. The instructions are fairly thorough, but they are written in very brief, imperfect language that you need to read carefully to understand all the features.- IMAGE QUALITY: superior, manuscript quality. I am most impressed by the image quality, assuming that you manage to compose your photo correctly. As with most digital microscopes, image quality is best at lower magnification and can usually be optimized using the lighting options. I made almost no effort to set up a good shot of the microscopic insects (sized 60-300 microns) on the leaf in my photos, and they came out pretty well.- PORTABILITY: It assembles and disassembles fast and easy, and it's nice and sturdy. Keep the packaging and the box, as each part has a molded compartment. Nice size for a small desk or hotel coffee table. Sturdy but lightweight for travel.- POLARIZER: works ok, but it's not a full polarized lense, only a polarized filter for the LED camera lights.- BATTERY LIFE: your mileage will vary, especially the stage lights. I left the screen and ringlight on after a full charge, and it was still on full power about 4 hours later. I did this with the auto-off turned off, but you can set the screen to go into standby after 1,2,3,5, or 10 minutes.- SOFTWARE: compatible with most camera operation software. The instructions link to two common free software. HiView is by far the better of the two, with editing, digital filtering, and measurement capabilities. The other, Amcap, is ok for really old computers but I find it less intuitive. My laptop and computer monitor immediately recognized the camera via the USB connection.- ACCESSORIES: I wish this scope came with a reusable cover. Once I set it up, I almost don't want to put it back in its box, but the plastic packaging is only big enough to cover the screen and not the lights, bracket, or stage. The included prepared slides are pretty useless, basically a throw-away accessory which instead should have been replaced by blank slides or a calibration micrometer. But at least they are packaged nicely. I'll probably use the box they came in.

This microscope camera does NOT snap 4K photos as advertised, they are so blurry and the jpg files that it takes are actually 1080p when you see it on the computer, absolute false advertising. What a waste of money, returning this immediately.
