New to us house had a black sack filled with gravel placed over the exterior stair well drain. It was huge, looked ugly, green mold grew on it, and during a heavy rain, water would not drain through it fast enough (regularly cleaned the gravel) so to avoid flooding someone would go out and move it away from the drain. This cover is heavy enough that it's on top of the original drain and is doing an excellent job at stopping debris from clogging the drain pipe.Works for us.

Bought this to prevent my outside drain leading to basement from clogging. It worked perfect held up through a 3 day rain storm and kept all the dirt and leaves from entering the drain. Worth every penny.

You know what I used this for??? I put it over the drain at the bottom of the stairs that lead to my basement. It keeps the leaves and other debris out of it and prevents it from clogging and causing water to get into my basement! So far, so good! It stays in place without anything to secure it like liquid nails of concrete screws.
