The existing switch failed and prevented the mower from starting/running. This was a quick install and fix once determined it was the problem. Looks identical to the original.

I thought this was supposed to be an upgrade, but it failed after only 4 months. The switch must have broken internally. Instead of being off when down, on when up, and reverse operation when pulled up temporarily, it was on when down and reverse operation when up. Therefore I could not disengage the mower deck before I shut my mower off, and it would not let me start it again. I could tell by the click of the PTO clutch engaging when I turned the ignition on (not even to start), and confirmed with my multimeter that it was wrong. Of course it is out of warranty, I guess I will try a different one this time.

Something broke inside the switch the second time I used it. Tractor would not start unless you wiggled the switch then not at all.

..any easier and it would have installed itself..thought I would have to keep track of which wire went where..it plugged into a matching plug..took less than a minute..the three position is used if you have to pull it up to mow in reverse...

Everything seemed to say buy me over OEM, good price, free shipping, looked the same, even a upgrade. I bought this in July 2019 used it through the summer on my lawn mower, every thing seemed good until winter came. On the second snowfall my tractor quit. I did some troubleshooting and found when I wiggled the switch knob I was able to start the tractor. The bad is even when the PTO was off it still tried to turn the auger of the snow thrower, not full speed but still dangerous. My snow thrower requires much more use of the PTO then my mower but I still should get more then 4 months of use out of it.
