I have a 2003 Ranger which has OBD II as required of all vehicles after 1996. I bought a different unit which stated in its description that it would not work for vehicles prior to 2004 but since I had OBD II I gave it a try. When I hooked it up to the ranger all it would read was voltage. The owner’s manual specifically said that reading will occur on vehicles older than 2004. Apparently there was some kind of upgrade to OBD II in 2004. So, I sent it back and ordered this unit as the description states: “Unlike other Car HUDs, you do not need to worry about the compatibly, our HUD Display could work for cars with OBD2 and EUOBD port(Car automatic diagnosis system).” However, when I hooked it to the Ranger, I got only voltage and its manual also said that is all you get for vehicles older than 2004. So, the description is wrong.
