I got this switch to replace the OEM headlight switch on my 2001 Tahoe, whose dimmer dial has been acting flaky for awhile. I had tried a replacement switch from a different manufacturer, but that one had no backlights at all, rendering it all but useless. This switch from AiYiGu has backlights, but they are very dim, even on the brightest setting. I would say they are about 1/4 the brightness of the other OEM backlights. And the backlight color does not match the OEM backlight color. It is kind of bluish, not yellowish. The reason for my 1-star review is that THIS SWITCH OVERHEATS. I had my headlights on for a 90 minute round trip to the airport to pick up my son, and on the way back, the switch overheated and I could smell plastic burning. I touched the dimmer part of the switch and it burned my fingers. Even my son (riding as the passenger) could smell the plastic burning. I managed to limp my vehicle home and replaced this switch and threw it in the trash. My old switch never had this problem, and still doesn't, so it's definitely a problem with this switch. If you don't want this switch to burn you, or to fail and leave you on the road without headlights, I strongly recommend you find something else.

The original dimmer on my 2001 Tahoe had stopped working and I could no longer read the instrument cluster while driving at night. So I ordered this aftermarket replacement. Install took about 5 minutes, super easy. It works as advertised, but the backlighting on the switch itself has a blueish tint instead of the off OEM white color. That really isn’t a problem for me because this is my daily commuter vehicle, but it may be a deal breaker for you. I commute about 35 minutes to work and about 20 minutes into my commute, I smelled a strange smell like plastic. When I touched the switch, it was really warm. That has me a little concerned, but for now I’m going to leave it alone. I will update this review if anything changes for the better or worse.
