I use these for stained glass. They require a light touch. It is possible to overscore the glass resulting in unpredictable breakage. They don't work well on textured or pitted glass.

Coming out of the package I knew it was junk. It looked like it was used. Glue on the metal and a crappy wooden handle. The handle broke the first time I used it. I didn't get 3 inches in my cut and it snapped. I've had cutters that have lasted 10 year not 10 minutes. Buy something else the is garbage.

Works well. The one I had previously started skipping, the glass would not score evenly causing break problems. I think the diamond might have become damaged as it worked well when first purchased. Protect the diamond tip with either the plastic cover as sold or make a protective case out of cardboard or cloth (you could just wrap up the cutter in a cloth. My purchase of glass running pliers and the new Hawk diamond cutter solved my glass cutting problem.

The one time I used it, it completely served it purpose. The I lost it. So, I can speak for a durability perspective but it work great when I had it.

This is NOT Professional Heavy Duty Diamond Tip Glass Cutter.First, it is not Diamond Tip. Actually it's carbide which is so brittle that it broke at 3rd cut.The actual product is Hawk Glass Cutter with stock code TJ1010.Manufacturing on a very low level - typical of China low level manufacturing. Handle has good finish, but everything else has no finishing at all. The glass breaking notches are fast cut with material leftover. Carbide holder is actually very small brass with length of 3/16", very unprofessionally grind. It has pliers marks and it holds with glue in the holder. Not recommended to anyone who needs more than single score. Even for single use cutter, overpriced and low quality.

Great glass cutter and I don't have to worry about a wheel having rusted on in the workbench and not cutting right. It comes in a plastic pouch with a bit of oil impregnated foam and seems to be very well made. By the way, when you use a glass cutter always dip it in oil to keep the scratch new and not exposed to the atmosphere so that you get a very clean break, and never, never, never try to re-scratch, turn the glass over and try it again on the other side.Hans

This glass cutter is very good. It cuts glass as well as any good professional glass cutter. A person has to know how to use a glass cutter properly because the diamond tip can be damaged easily or the wooden handle can be broken if not handled correctly. I have used it over and over cutting glass and it has lasted without loosing effetivness. For the price of the cutter I would recommend this cutter to a hobbiest or causual glass cutter.

Although I have not used this specific type of glass gutter before, it worked wonderfully. I am a picture framer and restorer, and am constantly called upon to cut custom sized glass. This cutter does a good job. Hopefully it will last longer than the conventional type I've been using for years.
