Good product for my uses, like a birdfeeder or a squirrel house. I can't see concrete for 1 post so I use these. I have an area of old patio stones and I just pick the junction between 4 stones and hammer it in. The stones give plenty of support in sandy Florida soil. It takes a 4x4 post and to hammer it in I keep a 2ft piece around, put that in the post and pound it down. Swap the 2ft piece out and install the real 4x4.

Not sturdy enough for rocky soil, pretty much need straight dirt to install. Had to use a t post for a guidance hole and then they were alright at best.

1: Why do we want it? To hold gate posts.2: Unboxing: Comes in a long box.3: Instructions: None needed.4: Install: These can be driven in but we dug a hole first.5: In Action: These are a quick solution for putting together 4’ tall gate posts on our dog run. Our fence is mesh and really light, so these work well for the light use gate that also does not catch the wind.Pros: Fast and easy to work with.Cons: If you hit rock, these won’t work.ProTip: Dig a hole and backfill with concrete.

I usually use those green metal posts. I decided to change since I added artificial grass. These are great, they are sturdy. I decided order more because I'm going to use some for my falling fence. They make your fence look fancy.

The package is a little rough but it works fine. I wouldn't say it's very strong because the steel panel wasn't very thick but overall structure holds well. Also, the stake is very long so it can go deep and stable, my 4x4 lumber can stay there fine.It is very easy to work with this, just make sure it's straight and hammer down to the ground soil. I won't really expect it's as strong as the concrete base but it's easier to work and make correction. I probably will try to find the exact location I want first then pour some concrete doing the enhancement later but so far it works fine for me.

This item does not hold a 4x4. Look carefully at the description. (3.5x3.5 interior) You will have to cut the wood down to fit these. If you want to do all that extra work, they are nice and sturdy. They just don't fit a 4x4.
