I hooked up the line to the hook on the opposite wall, about 15 feet away. Remember, you have to hook the line on the little piece of plastic under the wheel, that way it won't sag when you put clothes on it.

Its not perfect. The. Build quaility is questionable, but once its set up it does what its supposed to do, and that's allow you dry clothes on it.

Great product. As long as its screwed in a stud. Cord is Way longer then needed, durable easy to install, tension is set by you so its easy.

I bought this vs the many others because it was advertised as being made of steel. I would've settled for any metal really. But I got it in hand here and it's solid plastic. Plastic and more plastic. Thank goodness for the easy Amazon returns cause this plastic non-metal unmetallic in any way whatsoever item is going back. False advertising for sure here.

We wanted a retractable clothesline for our Florida property. Since it is in the backyard, we didn't want to be stuck with a permanent line (palm fronds fall, birds perch, etc.) It seems rather cheap since the casing is plastic, but it has certainly done the trick. The line material is decent and the end you pull has a great hook on it. (we had another one years ago and the end was very cheap and hard to attach) I must say that I looked for something durable since it will be outside in the salty, "Gulf-water" air, so plastic did seem the way to go. A metal casing would get corroded.
