Check it very closely for any damage, it fits very well but mine had a stress point on it I didn't notice until I threw the box and packaging away and installed it. For my 20 year old mower though, it will be fine should keep the engine clean and cool.

A great after market choice for repairing a busted hood

The first hood I ordered came in damaged - the hood had several cracks and screw holes were broken. It was obvious the shipping box had been roughly handled and had a several 6-8 inch tears. Returning was not a problem other than UPS took two weeks to get it to Amazon. The second shipping box arrived in a similar condition but, fortunately, the hood was undamaged. It is a good replacement for the original, fit well with existing parts,

My 1999 John Deere GT235 has had a busted/cracked hood for YEARS. Deere has never had much success with being able to design or make decent body plastics - neither robust flexibility nor longevity. I wanted to replace, but I almost feinted when I quoted a new OEM hood lower from the local JD parts dept. So, I kept my trusty little mower limping along with underhood duct tape patchwork. I had another lower hood replacement I found here on Amazon that I'd bookmarked to my wishlist years ago, but still couldn't justify the price. Finally, it was so bad I just had to remove it and run without. Gawd, it looks way too red necky mowing like that. LOL! Then this unit, from HECASA popped up on Amazon recently... and at more than $100 cheaper than the other non-OEM guys! Whoop! Decided to pounce before it disappeared.I was a little nervous but the entire transaction went off without a hitch. It came shipped in a pretty sturdy shipping box, wrapped completely in thick bubblewarp and foam: not a scratch on it and nothing broken or cracked during transit. Molded color is a perfect match to factory JD, so no repainting necessary. Everything lined up great, no struggles or hassle. VERY happy with this. The old gal looks like new again! Recommended replacement for frustrated (and frugal) Deere owners!

Very good packaging, no damage from shipping. Delivered quickly. Great quality material thickness, finish, and fit. About half the price of the OEM hood.Note, this hood does not come with the mounting hardware, Isolator, or decals so save what you can and purchase replacements for the rest.
