I picked these up to install to what I assumed to be the typical factory warped manifold, as I had removed the passenger side a year ago after p0430 and 420 that did ironically result in the cats needing replaced instead of the exhaust leak mended as I assumed it was running rich over correcting for lean with fresh air through the manifold/ head falsely indicating the incorrect density and temp tricking the 02 correcting the short term fuel trim into thinking it was running lean, ultimately it did result in damaging the cats, generally they don't contaminate so easily, but after welding nuts to internally sheared manifold lugs and extracting 3-4 that way throwing the manifold on a bench sander and a double gasket install was certainly a better option than buying replacement manifolds that will warp also instead of already tempered ones that just needed resurfacing. Hedman makes great products but there's no improvement going with headers from them for my particular truck although isn't the worst move, but the ports are few mm under the factory manifolds, and are slightly more restrictive, which is great and needed for full performance exhaust systems, but running factory y-pipe and cats, it would be counterproductive. I think they offer a great gasket as you don't want to use the stainless oem, sometimes they just don't get it right on the changes they implemented in r&d or in the engineer phase, and old school still proves to be the advantage and this is one of those issues.. if you want a good gasket this is the ones I'd recommend as well as their exhaust systems, can't go wrong
