I was looking for something to enhance my rather dull voice, and this Mic does just that: extra brightness whilst still keeping the depth of sound in the vocals.

I have tried a LOT of podcast microphones. This microphone gets recommended often when looking for something that rejects noise well in the $250 range. At one point I had 22 microphones and I have gotten ride of 80% of them. This is one I chose to keep because it is so versatile and built so well.It works well handheld at events recording people you are interviewing on the fly just as well as it does as your go to desk podcast mic. The sound is rich and full. I just love this mic. If you are thinking about it just get it!

The highs are clear without being too bright, the lows are rich without being too muddy. It’s got a very open sound with the true hi fi depth that isn’t conveyed in frequency response charts. It produces a flattering natural sound and therefore takes eq really well when necessary. The rejection is also excellent. Switching to the PR37 really cleaned up my mix by cutting out a lot of cymbal and guitar bleed. It is also very easy to get it loud with wedges. I tour full time doing Front of House with multiple bands of different genres and the PR37 has become my go to.

Finally, a large diaphragm dynamic in a handheld without tons of handling noise! Great for on stage (seriously improved clarity in monitors). Also great for videographers getting interviews the field. If you have a podcast, this is a GREAT mic for guests who want to lounge on a couch rather than sit at a boom stand. The low handling noise and excellent rear-rejection make it very forgiving to a guest who doesn't have a lot of mic handling experience (or for a standup comic who gestures with the mic). All-in-all, you won't find a better handheld for the price. This mic is a workhorse. When it has to sound good the first time, I recommend the Heil PR-37.
