I love lawn games, and I love to backpack. Something that's hard to find is games that are light enough to carry into the back country, but entertaining enoug to be worth the weight. This game is fun but not really challenging enough to be entertaining for long. That said, the kids seem to enjoy it and anything I can do to keep them interested in the outdoors is good for me. They are creative enough to make up their own games too, things like playing with just one ring and trying to get it to stop at a specific spot, etc. Overall it's fun, but I wouldn't say that it's anything like actual shuffleboard.

I bought this for use while camping. In initial try out it seems it will be ok to play with, maybe for a shorter period of time.

Overall I don't think the game is worth the cost and there are other travel/camping games that will have much better entertainment value than this one. The biggest benefit of this game is that it packs small and is very light weight.I really liked the idea at first but once you play it you find that really only two rings will ever interact and then all the rest pile up against each other. It is not like shuffleboard where you can work around a puck or knock it off to the side. So if one player plays a ring short, pretty much all you can do is try to knock it out and then the next player will do the same and eventually a couple will stay together and then all other rings just stop. It really turns out to be the first ring that determines most of the game. Again, a worthy try but I just don't think that there is that much skill or development as you play more rounds.I also think there is another issue holding this back. It really relies on finding trees of the near perfect distance apart, it does include some nylon webbing to give you some adjustability and it also helps a lot to tighten up the rope. I found that I needed to add a hammock strap and a carabiner to make it reasonably easy to find a set of trees that would work. The manufacturer should have just included and extra piece of nylon webbing to make it easier to set up (especially for the price they charge).

The Helinox StringTrees Ultralight Shuffleboard Game is such a creative twist on a classic game — and it’s perfect for outdoor adventures! I picked this up for our camping trips, and it’s quickly become a favorite for both kids and adults. What I love most is how portable and lightweight it is. It barely takes up any space in my pack and sets up in minutes between two trees or posts. The rope and rings are high quality — built to last even in rougher outdoor conditions.Gameplay is super easy to learn but still requires strategy and a bit of finesse, which keeps things interesting. Whether we’re at the campsite, hanging out at the park, or just playing in the backyard, this game always draws a crowd. It’s designed for 2-6 players, making it great for family fun or small group hangouts. Plus, the packable design makes it easy to bring along for road trips, picnics, or beach days.Highly recommend this for anyone who loves games and spending time outdoors. It’s a fun, durable, and unique addition to your gear collection!

This is well-made product with a lot of potential but it is limited somewhat by the laws of physics and where you're trying to use it. For a backpacking game it is very light. If you're looking for something entertaining for the trail that isn't going to be a big hit to your pack weight this might do the trick. The rules are simple but here's where physics gets in the way. If your first ring falls well short of the yellow zone (the highest scoring zone) you aren't going to have any luck getting any further with your next two rings because they will be blocked by the first ring. Another issue is the availability of trees to tie the cord to. If you happen to be camping in an area with few trees, you are probably out of luck. It still has a lot of potential. I would suggest marking your own smaller scoring zones down the length of the cord. This will give you multiple chances to score points even if your first ring slide isn't so great. Also pack some light cord in the pouch in case you have two trees that are too far apart to reach.

This is overall a very high quality game kit, but holy bonkers is it expensive for what it is....basically a stretchy cord with 8 rings. The criticisms of it kind of being about the first ring or two and the rest just bouncing off of one-another also seem to hold true in the testing we've done so far. However, I do think that my kids will enjoy this while camping this summer, so it'll still be going along with our camping kit. We'll pack some extra paracord to ensure we can fit it between two objects.

As always, Helinox really comes out with high quality items. I mean, it's just some cord and rings, but the quality of materials make it feels so special. The pouch is oversized so everything is easy to put away, nothing is worse than being on a camping trip in a rush to get packed and you're fighting with bags to get your stuff back into.Game is fun with a few drinks and friends, I can see the little ones getting board quick, but us adults enjoyed relaxing and playing a few rounds with drinks in hand and good conversation.

This has become a favorite addition to our outdoor activities. Its lightweight and compact design makes it easy to bring along on camping trips or picnics. Setting it up between two trees is straightforward and it provides hours of entertainment for both kids and adults. The game challenges our accuracy and adds a fun competitive edge to our gatherings. The materials feel durable and it packs away neatly into its carry bag.
