About this item

  • Hellwig Sway Bars tighten up body roll so you benefit from better vehicle control, greatly improved traction for safer driving and faster cornering.
  • Hellwig Sway Bars are an extremely effective handling upgrade you can make to your vehicle.
  • Hellwig sway bars offer quick bolt on installation that are engineered to perform.
  • Though most vehicles come equipped with factory installed sway bars, they are often insufficient at controlling body roll and error torwards an understeer condition.
  • Hellwig sway bars feature larger than stock diameters and precision engineered components to optimize handling and reduce body roll.

Sway bars, or more accurately anti-roll bars, are designed to resist a vehicle’s tendency to pitch from side to side during cornering, improving cornering ability and making for a more comfortable controlled ride. Sway bars are among the most cost effective and dramatic improvements that you can make to your vehicle regardless of whether it’s a truck, muscle car, tow rig, or RV. Sway bars are also typically easy to install, making them a great first upgrade for anyone who wants a little more control out of their ride.

I’ve done a lot of suspension work on my truck and this was the last piece I was wanting to add. Hellwig claims this bar won’t work on a truck lowered more than 4 inches but I’m sitting on a 5/7 drop and it went on just fine the only problem I had was the rear exhaust resonator was too close to the bar and would bump up against it and make a noise so I cut out the canister and put in a straight pipe and all is good. I didn’t notice much improvement on body roll but that is because I already had the Belltech front sway bar installed a few months earlier. Where it made a huge difference is when I’m hauling heavy loads on the freeway it used to float around in the rear now it’s nice and tight.!!

There is this highway speed right turn as you merge onto another freeway, and I never like the body roll that happens to my crew cab when I take it "fast" and that was going to be my point of reference. And honestly is a huge difference, its flatter on the turn, you have a better control on turns, it gives you a lot of confidence. Belltech 5100 shocks helps also.

There's two major things you need to know before you install this:The first being that with a stock exhaust it will require some "modification" I have a borla rear exit and the end links sat about 1inch from each side, fairly tight. The second being that if you take your truck off road it will reduce your travel in the rear, after installing I tested it and you can still do it but some 1-2ft deep trenches on a twisted angle will cause one rear wheel to come off the groundOverall I'm extremely pleased with the rear sway bar, 2018 Silverado 1500 spacer leveled in the front, on stock z71 suspension. There is no more body roll and the truck handles much better now, there's no more jarring in the rear end when you hit a large bump and the stability when you have a load in the bed is a significant upgrade.

My Hellwig 7735 Sway Bar Rear 1 1/8 in. Bar Dia. Sway Bar was easy to install in my 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 short bed with 5.3l RWD. The exhaust was close a couple inches but still good. After install there is a marked improvement in reduced sway during turns.

To this day I don't understand why Chevy doesn't install a swaybar in the rear of their trucks. I understand pickup trucks are intended as work trucks, but a lot of people buy them because of the convenience of carrying things, hauling a trailer, or just because they like pickups. Adding this bar improved the ride quality of the truck immensely, especially on tight radius turns. The truck doesn't feel like it's going to slide on the rear and body roll is kept to a minimum.

Sway bar seemed to go together ok. Directions were adequate. I would have liked better QC on the threaded parts. The threaded links were very stiff. A pass with a die cleaned it up nicely.

One of the best upgrades if you like a tighter handling truck. Add some Bilsteins and you'll be set..

Nice product. Good instructions with detailed photos. Minor exhaust clearance issues with MBRP on my 2017 Silverado RCSB 5” drop. MBRP has fewer bends behind the axle than stock, but I made it work. Modified anything is never easy, but that’s half the fun.Quality control on the end links is poor. They should come pre-assembled to ensure proper threading. Both female ends had thread issues, and I screwed up one of the male links during assembly. One link assembled without issue after cleaning every thread with a platinum dental pick (don’t have proper tap or die size). The other is nearly FUBAR now. My own impatience and doing. Waiting on tap and die set to arrive to repair properly. Can’t wait to take some turns and tow my boat once assembled.

Rear sway bay is well made. All parts needed were included. Couple criticisms, the grease supplied was Very sticky bc I installed when it was super cold (20 degrees). I recommend using a synthetic grease that maintain a little better if you live in a cold region. The sway bar linkages are very heavy duty with adjustable end links. All parts are very strong. I also recommend using a lube (or anti rust coatin) for the screw end of the linkages bc it is prone to rust. They salt the roads in Kansas a lot and mine turned orange in a day. The ride improvement is very noticeable both on corners and when driving at speed on highways or when carrying heavy loads. My set up is on a Silverado 2014 1500, 5.3L- rancho ready lift coil overs in front with rs9000 adjustable shocks all around and hellwig bars front and rear. The three holes on the rear bar, I started with mine in the center holes and felt a mild tightening of how the rear end felt. When I adjusted to the last hole, the rear end not only felt tighter but also more lighter or floaty over bumps. When the truck is unloaded, shocks set to 7, I can corner round-abouts or on ramps at almost as fast as in my bmw 3 series. During normal driving, the truck is usually set shocks at 5 or 6 and with the sway bars, feels more settled and stabile with much less body movement compared to the stock suspension
