It all started in 1877 when sea captain Helly Juell Hansen found a better way to stay protected from the harsh Norwegian elements. Soon thereafter, Captain Hansen and his wife Margrethe launched a business producing waterproof oilskin jackets, trousers, sou’westers and tarpaulins made from coarse linen soaked in linseed oil – and the legend was born!

This jacket does not include the liner. They want another $389.00 on top of the $427 for the outer shell. I recommend not buying anything from Helly Hansen as they are gouging us.

This is a serious rain jacket! Things I like: (a) extreme visibility (now I feel safe walking the dog at night, in a town where sidewalks are scarce), (b) completely impervious to water, (c) cut large, plenty of room for layers, (d) long, extends partway down the thigh. And (e) fashionable, if you're going for the Department of Public Works look. The one thing I don't like: the flaps covering the openings make the front pockets very hard to access.

I never write reviews but this jacket (and separate liner) is worthy. I’m 5’2” and 115lb and I STRUGGLE to find good quality workwear small enough. I ordered the Potsdam jacket and the separate zip in liner in size xxs and I am super happy with both. The liner is warm enough that you could wear it by itself on a cool fall or spring day. Combined with the jacket they are a solid choice for winter weather. Well worth the investment to have good quality gear that is going to hold up on the worksite.

Product was true to size and does exactly what i set out for it to do working in cold/wet weather. It does run a little long. Also doesn't come with a liner.

I use this as foul weather gear for my boat. It is a good combination of water proof and warm. Good quality and durable.

Great jacket, I use it working in a train yard. It picks up oil and grease and etc just like all the other high visibility jackets. The pockets are not positioned the best for my purposes leaving me no way to store or attach my radio. Also, the jacket does have a lining, but definitely not a lining intended to keep you warm- maybe it makes it a bit more breathable. The jacket does accept zip in lining and I’ve zipped in a The Northface fleece to keep warms.I would definitely buy this product again. XL is a bit baggy on me, but after I layer up for winter weather it’s perfect. A large would probably fit. 6’ and 215LBS.

My stomach is 50 inches around.I have broad shoulders I'm 6 feet tall and 270 lbs .the 4xl is comfortable and leaves room for a heavy fleece jacket underneath.the orange coat is so well made I'm sure it will probably last many seasons. The length of this coat is plenty long and I think it would fit even better on a taller person . Tried a few cheap coats and I could always find loose thread ends and they were clammy after awhile . The HH is dry and the under arm zips vent excess heat .the zippers work perfectly and the main zipper is two way so it can be zipped up when necessary
