I've been dry-cutting a lot of concrete and sandstone recently. This shroud is awesome. Even though I'm working outside with a respirator, collecting the dust makes clean-up a lot easier. I would suggest this shroud!

Recently I've been cutting a lot of "Hardie" fiber cement products. Circular saw blades for this purpose are expensive and the work is very dusty, even with dust collection on the saw. Using an angle grinder with a cutting blade, either a diamond or embedded carbide blade, can be both faster and cleaner. This shroud even come with a good diamond blade.I deducted one star because It does not work with my older Bosch grinder (but they openly stated that it only works with about 80% of grinder models!) It does work well with my newer cordless grinders. By using a very shallow depth of cut and working on a sheet of styrofoam insulation as a backer I get a nearly dust free cut when using a synchronised shop vac dust collection system.

I had an angle grinder shroud for surfacing, but needed one for cutting/channeling concrete. This one works great.Mostly metal, but plastic where needed. Very good material, design and operation. Comes with an adapter to connect it to your wet/dry vac, which does a great job of mitigating the dust.The wheels allow it to glide effortlessly and the height adjustment knob works well…. This unit is not just about dust management; it allows you to maintain a consistent depth of cut.The included blade is of good quality and I used it even though I have plenty.Good tool, it will outlive meI hope this helps

I was really excited about this product. So excited I almost reached out to a buddy that is still fabricating.And then I started working with the shroud. I am a right handed person that controls the grinder with my right hand. That is where the torque and resistance etc are. The blade also blows the sparks etc away from me this way.This rig puts requires me to use my left hand as primary on the grinder. I like the idea, but I don't think the product was well thought out.

This is great for dust and particulate control. I love how adjustable it is, really turns your angle grinder into a mini circular saw. You can adjust the depth of the cut and you can adjust where the line guide is depending on what blade you are using which I think is awesome and really helpful. The wheels on the front and the guide makes it super easy to cut long straight lines and not have to worry about cutting at an angle or getting off track, you can clamp a straight edge to the project and get a super straight cut. The only thing you lose with this is the visibility of the blade because the plastic, even though it's clear, only allows you to see the blade at particular spots. It takes a hot minute to put together but I do like that the part that connects to the grinder can hinge outside of the shroud for easy access.I love this to help control the dust for cutting cement board and stuff that just makes a lot of dust while making long straight cuts.

This appears to be a pretty good shroud. the build quality surprised me. For the price, i assumed it was going to be mostly cheap and flimsy metal and plastic but it's actually quite well made. It comes with multiple sizing rings to fit it onto most grinders which is a nice touch. The only problem however is that most later model Dewalt grinders have a spring loaded guard lock that has to be removed for this to fit. Unfortunately this isn't the most ideal situation as i do like the Dewalt shroud and i'm not interested in removing the OEM shroud lever and spring just to use this. Other than that, i still think this is an excellent shroud. the hose adapter does fit my shop vac and the build quality is pretty good for the price. Overall, i think this is a great little shroud and would work great for anyone with a standard grinder.

I'm always amazed by how many terrible conditions could be prevented by eliminating dust, this dust collector shroud is a great start but there are a couple of omissions that it really should have; to use the shroud you need to remove the grinders guard so you end up with no metal guard around the grinder wheel while this is in place. The instructions do say to only use this with a diamond wheel but I feel like it would be so much better if it had a built in metal guard. When using the shroud I found it good to be at the side of the tool to see the cut and stay clear of any danger from the blade, so long as the shroud is touching the work piece, the vacuum collects the dust really well, I still used a respirator as well and would recommend the same.The vacuum connector worked really well for connecting to a shop vac with a hepa filter.

This dust shroud works well with my 5" angle grinder in keeping dust, particles and sparks away from me when cutting metal or pulls wood away when using chain discs while shaping posts or grooving pressure treated lumber. With the shroud in position it forces me to guide using my left hand which I normally lead with my right, just something to bevaware of and keep in mind to be sure to use the stabilizer handle on your grinder to maintain firm control. When using be aware to remove any paper liner/bag in your shop vac when using while cutting metal due to possibility of hot metal entering vacuum bag. Overall very usefull and really helps keeping dust down and area clean.
