It is an electronically driven gauge kit that includes a type K thermocouple EGT probe that reads and displays your truck's exhaust gas temperature with 98% accuracy to assure you will not overheat and damage your engine under load. Been running this egt gauge for 2 1/2 years now without any issue. Easy to read night and day. Led backlight is nice and doesn’t blind you. Dimmable with the factory gauge lights. Very accurate and fast acting. I wish Hewitt had more gauge options in this series because they look good and are well made.

Impressed with overall quality, fit/finish and packaging of product but after install the light will not work. Verified +12v at the harness and an open lighting circuit on the gauge itself. Contacted seller 1 week ago with no response so far. Gauge also does not fit in an autometer 15010 steering column pod on my f-250 without the spacer. With the spacer the gauge face hits the steering wheel when turning barely. Not enough to cause issues but it is annoying and will eventually wear away the steering wheel trim.

Didn't want to pay Autometer price again so I went with this and it's lasted a day and died. I did send it back and got a refund. Time to look for another replacement.

I bought this guage for my F350 because it looks like a stock match up for my instrument panel compared to the glow shifts and basically every other brand out there with a massive brand name on the guage face. It does have a 1/4" npt (national pipe thread, the inside diameter) instead of the 1/8" npt pyrometer, a much larger hole is needed to mount it ( 7/16" ), so I had to go into the driver's side exhaust manifold instead of directly in front of the turbo collector on the up pipes due to the coarse threads (18 tpi vs 27) vs thin walls of the up pipes. Otherwise it works awesome; also the Hewitt guages are about 1/3" deeper than the glowshifts, so make sure and put the black mounting spacer on the outside of the A pillar guage pod so it doesn't hit the back side of the pod

The pyrometer works well, but I'm not sure if it's calibrated well, so I cannot be certain whether it's reading the accurate temperature or well under, since it rests when not in use at 200.
