This is a BEAST in a ultra thin package! The EPYC 7302P inside the 1U chassis is an engineering challenge in itself, but HP has pulled it off with stellar results. I upgraded from a PC based 2950X Linux server to the DL325 and installed Debian 10.6 and migrated my server to the 1U chassis. It runs smoother, but louder as the fans are far from quiet. The noise would be my only complaint. It sounds like an electric saw when it power on. When it idles down it sounds like a hair dryer on low. This is the cost of performance is a small package. I set the fans for Optimal Cooling and they idle at 27%. I will be looking to isolate my server rack a bit more.Pros: Fast. Runs cool. Supports up to 2 TB of DDR4 and can hot-swap and RAID up to 8 2.5" SSD or HDD drives.Cons: Fans are loud no matter what setting you choose. It would be nice if HP would step up to modern times with the network cards on this server and offer integrated 2 10G/1G interfaces instead of 4 1G interfaces. It would cost a similar amount for production and the performance on the PCI bus would be less of a cost for the bandwidth.
