damage from sharp edges and to provide strain relief .
Run heating cable along gutters and into downspouts, ending below the freezing level. Permanent attachment of the cable to
the gutter bottom is not necessary. Loop the heating cable in downspouts, Do not leave
the end of the H&G lifestyles in air at the end of the downspout

Overall, these are functional for the strips of metal with 8 holes that they are- they bend, and hold their shape with my de-icing cable inside my gutter, shielding the cable from very sharp exposed edges. The zip-ties, however, are about as cheap as they come.. During the install of two of the 5 hangers (in the cold) I broke 6 of the included zip ties in various ways, grumbling to myself when I went down and back up the ladder to get more zip ties about wasting my time. That annoyed me enough to swear to review this item. Which I now am!
