As I was washing my car I was getting water spots even while washing because the sun was shining. To get more usage from filter instructions are to use while rinsing car only, not to use while washing. I washed then installed the filter to rinse. I think it reduced water spots but I don't think you can just let air dry and have no water spots just by using this filter.

This filter does the job! I have a black truck and the water system here leaves my truck with spots all the time. I rinsed my truck after washing it and it dried to a nice shine without spots. I could tell that the filter was working as the pressure was reduced. I'm keeping a tick marks on the filter to see how many rinses I can get before spots start to appear. Its nice not having to go over it with a towel to get rid of spots.

It helped in minimizing the water spots that sometimes appear after washing the car. I washed car as normal and attached filter into hose and used it to final rinse

So yes this does reduce the total dissolved solids in the water. I tested water from my tap at 485 TDS. After attaching this filter, and running about a gallon through it, the water tested at 311 TDS. It will reduce the water spotting on my car, but I still need to wipe it dry to remove all of the spotting. Another use I will put this filter to is on the fresh water source when in a rural campground facility as these facilities often use a well source that tends to have TDS's on the higher side. I also noticed that when used with a hose, the inlet end leaked some, maybe because the inlet connector has three threads and the outlet connector has five threads. Problem was easily addressed with a little pipe tape.

I suffer from minerals in my water which leaves hard water spots on my car if I'm not careful. This inline filter did a nice job of removing those minerals from the water; allowing a cleaner and easier to detail vehicle in the process. Installation of the filter took seconds, and the price of the filter is very affordable. If you suffer from havgin hard water spots on your vehicles after washing this affordable filter solves your needs.

I am sick of hard water stains on my dark car after washing.Doesn't matter if it's in the shade and I immediately chamois the car...I get water spots. So is this convenient?I screwed the filter into the end of hose then screwed the nozzle to the end other end of filter. It didn't matter how tight I screwed into hose, that end leaked ( nozzle/male end did not however). Is it the metal on plastic connection? Are the plastic threads not deep enough? Then once you do get it screwed in tight, you need a wrench to get it off. Not too convenient. Some quick connect adapters that don't leak may make this filter much more convenient.Or maybe a bypass system where you can leave it attached to house spigot and turn on or bypass when not needed. I know it would make this more expensive but...kind of a PITA to use now.So does it work?Well, it does reduce water pressure...so there's that ( I'm on well water so it's already not a fire hydrant to begin with.I washed my car then screwed on this filter to do my final rinse. Then I fake chamoised dried the car to get rid of any sitting water spots. My issue is...I already have water spots on my hood...so I can't comment on that until I cleaner wax or clay bar my hood then rinse it.But on my roof glass, trunk, door panels I didn't see new spots.I think the idea is great but design lacks any convenience.I may get a few quick adapters so I can just click on and off for future. Or maybe a double hose spigot where one is for washing and other is for rinse?Also...how long should these last and keep reducing dissolved solids in the water?
