Cosmetically not the cleanest, but it works well as an HTPC bulk storage device. Seek time is very good even in a USB 3.0 enclosure. Can't beat the $cost/GB. 5-year satisfaction guaranteed warranty card included.

I have had just as good of experience with these than I have with any new drive. Building and putting NAS in place with these drives. Or using turn in NVR. Overall I have purchase a lot of these from this seller and only has to get warranty on one

I thought I'd give these a go, since the price was right. Well, I shouldn't be surprised anymore. Once again, the old adage, "you get [much less than, in this case] what you pay for," holds. Neither of the two drives I received worked at all. They didn't even seem to power-up - although, honestly, I can't be sure of that, because I didn't get that far into trouble-shooting. Neither drive was recognized by four separate SATA controllers. For sanity, I connected a new WD drive at the same time - that drive was instantly recognized. I might have thought this was a weird "one off," but I bought two. BOTH are DOA.Side note: I really hope my return costs these guys a lot of money, because they sure wasted my time on this. There's no possible way "the drive isn't recognized at all" would pass any sort of (sane) "renewal" procedure. My guess is they're taking used, probably broken drives, repackaging them (without ANY testing) and hoping the new owner doesn't try to use the drives. Or something?? I'm actually not at all sure how this business model could possibly work. Certainly EVERYBODY buying these drives is going to try them, right!?

The drive is relatively quite but can get a little hummy under heavy load so the noise level is relatively low. Good data transfer speeds and good load time in Fallout 4 of all games. The slowest time I got while loading was around 50 seconds and the quickest was around 2 seconds. Functions as advertised and was a easy install and format.

I was looking for a cheap drive to store some unimportant data. And was considering spending a little more on a new 5400 RPM 8TB drive. However I decided to take a gamble on saving $30 on a renewed drive.Pros:* Drive physically looks to be in excellent condition and was packaged very well.* It's a 7200 RPM and performance was better than expected for a mechanical drive.* Enterprise quality for budget price.* Seller provides an additional 5 year warranty and pays for return shipping.* Simple clear instructions provided in box for Mac and Windows for those that need them.Cons:* Drive is much more used and older than I was expecting. The description says "about 3 years" of use in a data center. Mine shows 6.5 years of power on time.Summary: It's a really great drive for a really great price, even despite it's considerable age. I was really close to taking a star or two off the review for the inaccurate description and used of drive. However I was not expecting an additional 5 year warranty with free return shipping, I missed that in the description originally, and figure that makes up how old the drive is.

Have a 4x8 terabyte NAS and needed to replace a drive I needed elsewhere. What a mes with so much data. Anyway, thought if a new used enterprise drive works as good as the ones I got before I should be ok. This one formatted and checked out fine. It is even quieter than two of the other drives I have. I know I'm taking a chance on failure but I'm running RAID 5 with that "Z" OS formatting with FreeNAS. I say it is fine.

OK, the four drives I received were beyond the use level described in the info about the drives. Mine were more like 5 - 6 years old but if they kept running that long then they are likely to run for another five. Hell, I have a few 20-year-old IDE drives that still function when I hook them up just to see what's on them. For the price, I'll just enjoy them while they work.
