I've ordered a couple of these and loaded them up with movies and music. I run them for hours per day for background music and sound. The oldest set have been working without any problems for almost a year.

Lots of hours of use but only 200 power cycles, so I expect it to last a while ...nice quality /quiet

Bought 6 10TB hdd. Love these helium filled drives. They run cooler so no need for noisy fan noise. 5 year warranty is awesome. installed them in spare TrueNAS server. Highly recommended. Been using various WD/Hitachi drives for the past 8 years.

Purchased 5 drives - setup as a disk pool on TrueNAS (4 drives with one Hot Spare) on 8/1/2024. All 5 were in same system with Fan Cooling Drives and UPS. One Drive failed on 1/14/25, array rebuilt with spare drive and Second drive failed on 3/21/25. Given high failure rate for critical components like Hard Drives I would not recommend trusting your date on these drives. Currently waiting for New Drives to Retire the remaining Three Drives with an array that can be trusted. Will continue to run this pool of 2 drives with Cold Spare and update review as warranted. On the positive side; drives arrived packaged nicely and drives installed without issue. As stated on the post these were fairly low usage (for enterprise drives) and performance (Speed, Use) was Good / as expected. Bottom line the failure rate given the time period used is far to high.

I purchased three 10TB hard drives for my NAS system. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with their performance. They operate quietly, although there is a periodic click due to PWL, which is normal and nothing to be concerned about. In terms of performance, these drives deliver excellently, and I couldn't find a better price elsewhere. However, since they are refurbished, there's always a slight risk of failure, but that's the case with any hard drive, even brand new ones. To mitigate this, I have set up RAID 5 on my NAS. Additionally, the reseller provided an additional 5-year warranty, which provides some peace of mind.Unfortunately, one of the drives failed after just 4 months of use. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the customer service team. I contacted them and received prompt support. The reseller, Evrymm, quickly issued a refund with minimal hassle; they only required the serial number for verification. I'm extremely satisfied with their service, so much so that I immediately purchased two more drives from them. I highly recommend them based on my positive experience.

So far so good! Once I was finally able to get the drive to spin up that is (more on that below). It was seen by MacOS as 10TB, I formatted it as APFS and am in the process of loading just over 2TB worth of data onto it and everything seems fine. Also the drive is surprisingly very quiet. Which is almost a bummer for me. Since the system I installed it in is rack-mounted, I was kind of looking forward to a nice wiring sound lol.Ok so the issue getting it to spin up and the reason for the 4 stars. The drive I received did not come with the adapter to disable the stupid power disable feature! I figured it was no problem I have tons of SATA power adapters of all different kinds…but none of them worked! I briefly thought the drive was doa. As a last resort I decided to just put a small piece of tape over pin3 on the power cable and to my surprise the drive fired right up and has been working great so far.So if you buy one these and the adapter is missing or you don't want to use it, just put a skinny piece of tape over pin3 (3rd over from the L shape) and you’ll be good to go. This isn't my first time needing to use that trick, and it’s never failed me.

I picked up a couple of 8TB HGST drives, and they worked great. I picked up a pair of these to act as the parity drives for my Unraid set. I have no issues with the drive; everything was as advertised, and the drives passed their SMART tests. One caveat with these drives is that they are loud when under load. This isn't a problem for me because my NAS is in a closet, and I don't hear the drives, but if you are placing your NAS close to your computer, you will want to sound proof your case a little.

I have purchased about 25 of theses renewed 5-year warranty 4TB, 8TB and now this 10TB HDDs. In general, I have been very pleased with the HDD's. However, the last two renewed 8TB HDD's I received were both defective. Both those HDD's passed the Quick test, but failed the Extended test. Both passed the Quick Format, but Failed on the Long Format option which checks the HDD block by block. It took about 25 hours to run the Extended test on this 10TB HDD on my computer, but it passed the test. Better to run that Extended test before you put a bad HDD into your system and have it fail a few weeks or months down the road when it might be loaded with data. I have only had a few renewed HDD's fail, after about 1 year, but they were quickly replaced because I kept all my receipts and warranty info. I use these renewed HDDs in my Home Media Center NAS and as backups. Great value for the money.

**UPDATE 8/2/2023**So, one of the two drives failed today. My unRAID system flagged it as disabled/offline. I removed the drive and put it in another machine and it is not spinning up nor being recognized. I even replaced the kapton tape strip for the power-up issue and then removed the tape and used the SATA power pigtail they ship to ensure it wasn't a problem with the power modification. The drive is DEAD. So 50% failure rate so far (I bought a pair of these). ಠ_ಠ I guess we'll see how long the second one lasts. I also noticed the failure seems to be JUST BARELY outside the warranty window.. I do wonder if that is unfortunate or intentional if they had an idea of MTBF.My original review is here:The Good 👍🙂: Arrived well packed, in like-new condition. Sealed in anti-static bags and a power adapter included so you don't have to do the "Kapton Tape Power Pin Mod".The Not so Good 😕👎: Both drives SMART tables show some concerning information. First, spindle spin time was "3y, 7m, 6d, 22h" and "2y, 1m, 28d, 10h" respectively. Next is peak temperature recorded Both drives show they have reached at least is 56° Celsius (though it doesn't tell how long it was at that temperature). Hard drive bearings have a finite life and every hour they spend spinning "eats" some of the life. Additionally, time spent at high temperatures reduces the lubricant life which further reduces the bearing life. So, my concern is that these drives will have a shortened life. We'll see ¯_(ツ)_/¯
