It works as a passport cover but there are two problems. First, the leather is stiff because of how thick it is -- definitely not soft. Second, it says it came from Guatemala and was made in Mexico. I love the smell of leather, but whatever process they used for tanning the hide made it stink with a stench I couldn't remove with two days of burying it in baking soda and then wiping it inside and out with Febreze. The odor could fill a room.

I was looking for a simple leather passport holder. No fancy designs, embroidery or stitching. It also needed to be made of durable leather as I expect this to sit in a safe or in my back pocket.The leather is real and not suede or synthetic.The plus for me is it won't draw attention from less than savory people who would want to steal it.

.. very disappointed after seeing the rivews on other products... the passport case i received has very bad finishing. The leather was cut crocked and the stitching isn't accurate at all... wouldn't recommend it.
