Worked great for my 07’ tundra tail gate cylinder. Easy swap, it only took about 5 mins, if that.. as always, this review is when I replaced it and not a not a long term use review. I will update with any new experiences, if needed.

Very easy installation as long as you havethe right part for the right truck bed door lock. Pops right in holds on with one bolt and the keys work as stated. I had no issues with installing, heavy duty metal seems to hold up nicely. I would buy again.

I bought a used 2016 Tacoma and never bothered to test the tailgate lock using the FOB spare key. The key works fine on the driver's door, but doesn't work on the tailgate for some reason. Maybe the previous owner changed the lock at one point or something broke inside the lock - not sure. Rather than hire a locksmith to get a new lock and have it rekeyed to match the driver's door lock, I purchased this lock instead. I like having a regular key instead of the FOB spare key which I find to be flimsy compared to a regular key anyway. Plus it would be annoying taking the FOB spare key in and out of the FOB every time I need to lock or unlock the tailgate. It takes about 15 minutes to swap the lock on the tailgate. Now I can lock my tailgate to protect the cargo inside which is also protected by the bed cover and it should prevent easily stealing the tailgate itself. This lock works fine and comes with 2 keys.
