I couldn’t be more pleased with the quality of this product. It is professionally done, and the quality and attention to detail is amazing. Also, this is a real sword. It is very sharp with an excellent sheath. I am very happy with this product, and my boyfriend will love it for Christmas.

Looks very nice and was satisfied with product but I picked it up today and there is suddenly something rattling badly in the handle. It was advertised as "battle ready" but with the rattle that I am hearing inside the handle I will never use this thing. I have extensively studied Japanese katana making and am aware of the broad range of qualities and prices out there from Japan to the USA. I understand it is a very inexpensive piece and you get what you pay for but the rattle took my review from 5 star to 1 star. Either I will keep this as a display piece and they will keep their 1 star review, or they can send me a new one and I will change my review, but I will not be returning the one I have because I simply cannot be bothered to do so.

This is a review of the Highlander blade. It is a strong and sturdy blade, not made for decoration but for actual use. It is quite thick and heavier than most katanas; it comes with a mostly-sharpened blade that can cut initially but will require more work if you want to actually cut more than bamboo. Excellent sword for the best price.

Price is a no-brainer. This is the replica of Connor Macleod's Katana from the first (and last?) Highlander films - this is the one he got from Ramirez. (Duncan Macleod's handle is different)The handle is the same as most other Highlander replicas - meaning its not quite screen accurate in the sculpt, and its way over painted. If you're interested in cutting, this might be a good intro-sword - it does have a full tang, and comes moderately sharp. Recommend sharpening more if you plan on cutting anything though. It a blood groove (fuller) on one both sides. The hamon line is etched, not authentic. The tsuba is the right shape, but not really accurate to the screen version (you can find just the tsuba elsewhere on amazon). It does come apart. Under the faux jewels on the handle there are two wooden pegs. With a little effort they can pushed out, and then with some firm taps with a rubber mallet you can knock the handle loose.Overall im pleased with this purchase. I believe its totally wirth the price, though now im on the path to a real Katana and kenjutsu classes.(edited to correct some grammar and upload photos)
