These sun catchers were very easy to put together and hang around the house. They are a bit smaller than I anticipated, so I'm not sure how well they'll work in scaring hawks away. On windy days they blow right off, so I had to bend the hook a bit to keep the on better. They don't seem to spin an awful lot, but they are quite reflective, which is what I need. Overall I wasn't overly impressed by any means, which is why I reduced a star. $16 for this set seems a touch high, in my opinion.

These bird-repelling spinners appear to be made of laser cut aluminum or stainless steel. There are 3 spinner units, each with 3 "teardrop" spinners. You could actually make them longer or shorter by connecting/disconnecting to your preference, but I kept mine as 3 units to hang in front of 3 windows that are notorious for birds crashing into them. The pieces come flat, so you need to gently twist/rotate the "rings" into a 3-dimensional shape. They are actually fairly strong, as long as you don't constantly twist them back and forth, so don't be shy about twisting them as long as you are somewhat gentle. Then just connect them together with the included clips, and hang them where you want. They spin in the wind and reflect the sunlight, acting as a deterrent to alert birds that they should steer clear. So far they seem to be doing their job, but it's hard to REALLY tell since the bird strikes on the windows don't come with any consistency or predictability. But I'd rather have these to help deter them, than to get more dead birds beneath the windows.

These look great! Woodpeckers were damaging my house, so I got these, and I haven’t heard a single peck since. Super easy to hang, and they move and shine just enough to keep the birds away. Definitely worth it!

We have a lone sparrow who keeps coming up against our sliding door glass, tapping away as he does (it might be that he sees the interior house plants). We got these simple, shiny wind spinners to try and scare him away and, overall, they've been pretty effective. We actually just hung them near-by on a small trellis of a tomato plant and he almost instantly the bird went to investigate by tapping on the spinners themselves! It was enough of a distraction to keep his visits to a minimum. These are easy to assemble (by carefully 'twisting/bending" each spinner into a 3-D shape and then hanging them). Very light in weight and highly reflective, they look quite nice on the deck (and will make good Christmas ornaments when the time comes). Each spinner is individually wrapped on both sides and peeling off each one was actually the most challenging part!

I a, so happy with this! I got these spinners to try to keep some birds away from an arch on our house. They were crazy easy to put together. Literally took me 5 minutes to get them together and twist them. They spin easily, casting sparkles all over. Exactly what I need to keep the birds away. I was so happy with them, I ordered a second set!

Let me start off by saying the end result is stunning!Included in this order is a set of three spinners based on using three sections...nine sections in all. Also included were the hanging clips and the clips to attach the sections together. My set included one extra clip. Also included is a thorough instruction page, complete with illustrations. The sections arrive flat and you twist them to your liking.A couple of things to note - each spinner is individually wrapped in this sticky type of plastic shrink wrap. Removing it from each one is a bit tedious, but about halfway through, I finally got the hang of it. Don't be alarmed when the flat piece bends a bit as you're removing the wrap; it straightens back easily. Also, I followed the instructions to twist each section before clipping. After completing the first spinner, I decided to clip the sections while still flat, then twist. This made the process of creating them MUCH easier because I found it a bit difficult to clip them together when they were twisted. The spinners are made of thin reflective steel and once they are created, they are simply beautiful. I love these and highly recommend!

I can’t comment on how this keeps our insane robin from attacking the dining room window because we just got it up. BUT—I didn’t realize this does not come assembled. It came in 20+ tiny pieces which requires deft little fingers to put together. It took my husband about an hour and a half. Might be less for a younger, defter person.
