It is round with a hole in the center and can be used where loosening from corrosion or vibration is a concern. I have a thing for lock washers. I know it might just be a washer with a little split in it to some people but to me each and every one it a little work of fine art. So round, so shiny. Each one perfect. These are some of the finest I have found on Amazon.

I bought these as extras for my commercial grade stainless steel oven as I often drop one or two when I disassemble it for deep cleaning and they dissapear into the cracks. You get 25 here at the price of what 4 costs me at Home Depot (which is a half hour drive for me). They do the job as they should, and so far are corrosion resistant. These are not true stainless steel as they can be picked up with a magnet and are made in China.
