I read a review on this product saying that this lamp was the "real deal". So I decided to spend the money on it. Well worth it. Large and beautiful. Also, the dimmer works very well, better than the dimmer on another lamp that I have; this is important to me because I only want a faint light on overnight and this one is perfect!I bought the lamp mostly to put some salt into the atmosphere in my home. If any lamp can do that, this one will! Seller is also responsive to questions.I liked the lamp so much that I just bought the smaller size for another room in my home.Update: I did some reading about the importance of UL (underwriters laboratory) approval of the dimmer and cord for the lamp. I wrote to the seller (Himalayan Secrets). The seller was VERY prompt and thorough in his answers, even sending me detailed proof of their UL approval. The seller is most responsive and responsible. I am now confident of not only the beauty but the safety of this lamp.

I love this lamp. When I see other peoples dinky little salt lamps, I want to go into Crocodile Dundee mode and say, "That's not a salt lamp. This is a salt lamp!". Seriously, this is a beautiful chunk of a Himalayan Salt lamp and all the other salt lamps are mere pretenders. I bought the smallest one and it's still huge. I keep it on all day and enjoy the beautiful orange colors it give off. At night the glow is perfect to light up the living room without being too bright or harsh on the eyes. Buy this lamp if your looking for the best salt lamp. Worth the higher cost, you won't be disappointed.

I am very pleased with this lamp. It's beautiful. A good size to be the centerpiece. Allows me to minimize using more intrusive lights at night. Glad I upsized.
