I bought these for my Pit Boss K24 ceramic smoker. The smoker uses 3 springs and only 2 come in a pack.

The nuts shipped with this packet are too shallow. They will not tighten up on the flat head bolts. I need the bolts but the nuts are no good and I am going to have to go to a local hardware store to buy the correct nuts.

Short version: Yes, I recommend these replacement springs for the lid of a large Big Green Egg. They made a noticeable difference on a 15-20 year old large BGE once they were successfully installed (read below). Our BGE was purchased from a 70-something widow, who no longer needed it. She and her husband had been avid BGE users, and even competed in local BGE cooking competitions. She did not indicate when it was purchased, but they had likely used it at least 15-20 years.Lifting the lid was difficult, although it did stay up when opened. These appeared to be the original springs, which may have stretched or weakened over the years. I hoped that these WRKAMA Hinge Springs would improve the lifting assistance of the lid. They did. It was a noticeable improvement. However: the product description says "PERFECT MATCH LARGE GREEN EGG OLD AND NEW HINGES", but the BGE replacement parts list different sizes for (L)arge and pre-2017 L&M Eggs. Based upon how difficult it was to install these springs, I question the product "Perfect" description.SEE: the product video on "How to Installing the One-Piece Hinge Spring" (poor grammar) shows opening the BGE, then attaching the bottom of the spring and using a cord to easily pull and attach the spring at the top. DO NOT BELIEVE IT. It took both my wife and I to do this. She held the lid open while keeping her weight on the Nest ("BGE cart"). I had my foot on the back of the cart, pulling on the cord with both hands and all my strength, straining again and again to stretch it far enough to attach. After many attempts on each spring, we finally succeeded, but I wondered if it may not have been the "Perfect Match" of the product description. So yes, I do recommend these springs, but caution the buyer be very careful, and have help, when installing them. The full 5 stars because they do work, but I feel some "honesty" is needed in the product description.

I have had my large BGE for almost 13 years. While the cover still is held up by the springs, it feels less secure than it did many years ago. It kind of locks in and stays up, but I don't get a whole lot of confidence that it won't surprise me someday by coming down if I hit it just right while putting in a large tray or even cleaning it out. The original springs show the tiniest bit of rust where they connect but actually look very good for spending 13 years outside - not even under a porch. I'm hoping these last as long!Perfect replacement, seem to be exact duplicates, and work great for the Large Big Green Egg (and probably others).
