  • HIGH TORQUE: This OEM Upgrade is 130ftlbs of Torque (OEM torque is 105 ftlbs). Higher Torque Means this Clutch holds Strong Even in the Toughest Cuts, and Prevents Overheating caused by slippage.
  • BIGBearing: The Pulley Bearing Takes a lot of abuse and is often the first thing to fail. We use a Larger Pulley Bearing for a much longer life.
  • Tough Billet Pulleys: Billet Pulleys Reduce Belt Wear and Maintain Perfect Blade Speed. Our Billet Pulley Design uses a Snap Ring and Allows for Bearing Replacement.
  • Cool Coil Technology: We use a Proprietary Composite Material Instead of Plastic. This Allows the heat to Escape the Clutch Faster. Less Heat = Longer Life
  • Premium C3 Bearings: HD Designed and Spec’d these bearings with C3 Clearances, Premium High Temperature Grease and on Most Models a Larger Tougher Bearing


HD Clutches are designed at HD Clutch and Assembled in the USA. Higher Torque: 130 ft-lbs (OEM is 105 ft-lbs). We add a few more windings to our coils to provide the maximum gripping strength to prevent damaging micro-slipping during tough cutting conditions. The HD Switch BIGBearing design addresses the #1 reason clutches fail with a larger tougher pulley bearing. Machined Billet Pulleys: It is easy to damage formed pulley and damage (even a small stone nick) damages the belt with every rotation. With our Billet Pulley design, we include a snap ring so the bearing is replaceable, making this clutch rebuildable. Clutches all run very hot; we use a composite material instead of plastic to allow the heat to dissipate much faster. This makes the HD Clutch run much cooler; extending the bearing and clutch life. HD Clutch wrote the Bearing specifications to include Premium C3 Rated Bearings and high temperature rated synthetic grease to combat heat. Less Heat = Extended Life.

The V in the pulley is too tall at the bottom of the V causing the belt to not make good contact causing slipping. Where the tip of my finger is in the posted picture is too wide. Blades would not hardley cut from the slipping. This is with a new oem belt. Put the faulty oem clutch back on and works better than this one . Waste of money.

Very solid unit! Excellent fit on an E170 John Deere. Wire pigtail is proper mate to tractor harness connector. EXCELLENT installation instructions including mounting torque specifications. A pleasure to look at the manufacturing quality of this unit.

Deere D160 with 24 hp Briggs and 48" deck. This clutch+Switch package is a perfect drop in replacement. Works smooth and steady; good start, but no idea how durable it will be. Worked immediately, no fiddling. I used the OLD anti-rotation arm, because it has a detent that fits the tractor frame to keep the arm, itself, from rotating around its single bolt. FWIW, I discovered that the old original clutch lost a grease seal, and friction-welded itself solid.

I needed to replace a clutch with an intermittent short that burned out the PTO switch.The kit included the retaining bracket. I was glad it did.The experienced seller saved my behind, as i found out, that the original bracket was so worn that if it would have failed and ruined the new clutch.Because of this great seller I had all the parts to deliver a quality repair.The clutch is working well in our churches mower. Much better build than the orriginal clutch too.Would use this part again without hesitation.
