Easy to use and makes good solid well defined crimps. Some people complain about irregularities in their crimps. Choose a ferrule that most closely matches your wire. The better the fit before crimping the better the result.Remember “compact” wires are labeled the same as standard ones and have the same current rating but are smaller in diameter. Choose a ferrule according to fit not just by gauge and the crimp will be great!Keep the dies clean and very very lightly lubricated!

Almost got the German tool for over 200 , but this tool working great! , for the price can't go wrong with this, I'm not a professional everyday solar installer so is why I purchased this one, otherwise I would have gotten the German.

Work great, just wish they would be bigger to easily accommodate 6 awg ferrules.

Have used this crimper for over a month on wiring control panels. Have crimped the following size ferrules: 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 22, & 24awg. As the wire sizes get below 16, the crimp becomes less square and more rectangular. At times almost looks like a parallelogram. Several times I had to use a hexagonal crimper afterwards to get the ferrule into a square terminal. Did not have any loose crimps(as long as on right setting), just the lack of squareness.

I read reviews on many ciphers available here. I was a little out off by some of the negative comments, so I thought I'd share my experience. Hopefully it helps you out.My needs were simple. I am installing a home vehicle charger and I wanted the installing to be as good as I could makes it. I was working with 6AWG wires. The engineer in me said that I should go sooth ferrule connections, as they are best in applications just like this. This was a brief encounter with the specific circumstances and this tool was great. It took the 6AWG ferrules and crimped them without complaint. If you're looking for something that can get the job done, won't break the bank and can manage 6AWG, this is your tool.

The crimpers will do a fair job on the ferrules, but the ferrules will be compressed at an angle and not as a square or equal on all sides, they will be more high than wide. When you insert the cable on terminals the cable has to be rotated to find the flat spot so that you can make good flat contact with the terminal screw. they are overpriced, other than that they will work if you lack anything else to do the job correctly.
